Temporary, Seasonal (June - July)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in maintenance of seed genetics through elimination of off-type plants in fields designated for pedigreed seed production.
Complies with applicable safety rules and policies.
Ensures fields are free of litter or other items that may be left behind by workers daily.
Assists with additional tasks as needed.
Valid G Driver's License and own transportation OR able to arrange reliable transportation to and from work site
Experience working in agriculture with references an asset
Reliable and highly motivated
Works well with other workers
Expected to perform duties responsibly and efficiently, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, observe safety and security procedures, and report potentially unsafe conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a variety of outdoor conditions (sun, rain, heat, cold, dust, etc.). Shifts may sometimes be split to mitigate effects of intense summer heat.
Work frequently involves prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, climbing and working in all weather conditions
Employee must be willing to work rotating shifts, up to 7 days a week, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
