My dear Mr de Laszlo
I enclose a cheque for two hundred guineas – with thousand thanks – I only wish the cheque was for a thousand guineas as I know well it should be.
My wife is delighted – and I am very proud to be the “object” of such a wonderful picture [5990].
My wife’s portrait [5980] is quite charming and I delight in it. We took

one of the reproductions to be framed on the way to the station this afternoon and it will reach you soon.
It was so very kind of you too – to give me the unfinished portrait of my wife [5978].
It is difficult to find words to express what we both feel about your kindness and generosity but we hope very much to find before long some little souvenir which we will ask you to accept as a token of it.
I am yours very sincerely
Roger Keyes
