MIDVIEW LOCAL SCHOOLS

2015-2016

In 2014, the Midview Local Schools began a process to develop a plan for the district. The planning committee, consisting of administrators, teachers and board of education members, developed a clear set of goals and objectives to help guide the district as it continues to provide innovative and challenging opportunities for its students.

The mission of the Midview School District is to prepare all students to be successful and competitive citizens; building a stronger and more productive community.

Goal 1: To expand educational opportunities and raise expectations

Objective 1: To enhance educational pathways / opportunities (especially in the areas of STEM)

Action 2014-2015

  • Enhance alignment of Project Lead the Way to Math and Science (Completed)

  • Restructure the Shining Stars program at North and West that focuses on positive behaviors.
  • Implement the Signs of Suicide (SOS) Curriculum in Health and Financial Literacy courses for grades 7-8 (In Progress)
  • Continue to implement and monitor progress of the Check and Connect Program at MMS (In Progress)
  • Continue to meet with the Student-Principal Advisory Committee (MMS) (In Progress)
  • Implement PAX (Good Behavior Game) program at the 1st grade level with four (4) teachers (In Progress)
