This Week We… BOY (beginning of year) expectations & procedures: Continued to learn about these, what they look like in our classrooms and practiced them -Practiced our classroom promises with our teachers Math: explored math manipulatives in our classrooms & continued math lessons in Module 1 of Eureka Math (lessons 3-7)
Science/ Social Studies: not yet! Social Emotional Learning (SEL): continued to explore tools in our calm areas of our classrooms to manage our feelings while at school & do mindfulness activities/videos with our teachers DIVE: review of this in our classrooms & other important areas of our campus. If you need a refresher: Do everything safely, I am a leader, Value, Engage (DIVE) | Next Week We Will… JEDI: This week we will talk about what it feels like to belong. We will begin to discuss and value our classmates’ similarities and differences. This discussion supports our school’s Statement of Inclusivity that you should read on our school website. Moments to Celebrate! Finishing our 1st full week of first grade! | We Need Your Help, please! -engage with your teacher’s emails -read the weekly newsletters that come your way each Friday (if you are not getting these, let your teacher know) -help your kiddo learn to be a shoe tier if they come to school in laces |
