We watched a documentary “How William Shatner Changed the World”. It was about how Star Trek basically predicted that in the 21st century this is how life would be, we would have some things like wireless phones, a lot different computers, and digital storage.Most people thought that Star Trek was just a dumb show about aliens and space but really Star Trek was an educated show talking about what was going to be happening and a lot more people should have watched it and actually prepared for what was going to be happening in the future.When the show first came out i would have watched it, because i would know what was going to be going on now.

One of the first things the documentary talked about was the mobile\cordless phone.Willam Shatner said that in the 1900’s when you wanted to talk on the  phone you would have a phone on the wall that was not very good quality, you wouldn't be able to hear that great.Now a days you have phones you can walk around with anywhere in your house, and we even have mobile phones that you can do almost anything on; get games, send text messages, take pictures, and go on the internet.Having technology become this advanced is one of the best things that happened to this world.

Another thing in the documentary was talking about computers and digital storage.Again back in the 1900’s everybody would use large computers with a big monitor and an unclear screen, now a days we have computers that are thinner than a book.We also have laptops which you can go anywhere with an internet connection, back then computers were something very rare; not a lot of people had them. The reason we can have such different computers is because now we have microchips which can allow them to be smaller and faster.Also we now have digital storage, and the first one was Apple Quicktime music player.

I think Star Trek was a very important show back when it was new because it talked about the future.Now i dont think its as important but it is something really cool to watch because it talks about what today was going to be like and its cool to see what it was like back then!
