Announcement: Seeking Leadership Team Members for one (1) year term

Emerging Arts Professionals / San Francisco Bay Area seeks two - three Leadership Team Members to join the organization. Specifically we are seeking members interested in one of the following project areas: online content coordination/blog curation/editor, fundraising or business development, event/conference planning or organizing. By joining the Leadership Team you are committed to representing the voices and experiences not present in the room, to creating a Bay Area arts field that is inclusive, collaborative, values diverse experiences and exploration of ideas and emerging models.

Leadership Team Member responsibilities include: attending one Leadership Team meeting a month (2 hours), making decisions on the direction and resource allocation of the organization, and coordinating a project that aligns with our strategic directions and is in one of the above stated project areas. Some work is requested outside of the Leadership Team meetings, this work averages 15 hours a month. This is a volunteer position with a small stipend as a show of appreciation.

On the horizon

EAP is conducting an Organizational Assessment around our Leadership Structure, this work will be taking place between September 2015 - January 2016. Leadership Team members will be uniquely positioned to lay the foundation for the next few years for EAP. This work will also lead into the Executive Direction recruitment starting around November 2015. Joining the team at this time will be exciting, require hands-on leadership, and will require openness to change and flexibility. Leadership Team members roles may be structured differently after the Org. Assessment work.

About EAP

EAP provides mix of networking and professional development opportunities, with a focus on evolving attitudes within the sector towards next generation leaders, their issues, and their perspectives. This approach was formalized in strategic planning, and in 2010 EAP launched its Spring Series and its first Fellowship cohort.

Since then, our capstone Fellowship event, EMERGENCE, has become the annual network convening, and a collaborative platform for Bay Area arts and culture workers to connect, share ideas, and elevate their work and voices. Through the remainder of the year, EAP continues to host social events, panel discussions, and other special learning opportunities.

By establishing and nurturing a vibrant network and by focusing programs on empowering individuals, EAP will ensure that culture workers have access to meaningful work, a supportive community, and sustainable practices and, over time, the arts sector itself will be transformed to become healthier, to harness creativity better and to reflect the values that matter most to today's emerging arts leaders: empowerment, relevancy and diversity.
