Regis University Approved Center for Play Therapy Education (2010-2023)  Our play therapy courses and child and adolescent counseling post-graduate certificate  program became the 12th Approved Center for Play Therapy Education. This credential  is designated by the Association for Play Therapy to play therapy training programs that  meet rigor in research, practice, teaching, and service related to play therapy. As an  Approved Center, our play therapy courses and institutes are nationally certified for  those interested in gaining their Registered Play Therapy (RPT) Credential. Our center is nationally and internationally renowned as we collaborate with the Graduate Counseling  Program at the University of Holy Cross New Orleans to provide play therapy institutes  and training in Italy. http://uhcno.edu/internationalPrograms/italy-play-therapy institute.html

International Training programs are approved for Continuing Education by:  (1) The Association for Play Therapy (APT).

(2) The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).

Post-Graduate Certificate Program in Counseling Children & Adolescents (2008-present)  This certification program is designed for advanced level master’s students and  community mental health professions. The purpose of this certificate is to offer training  that meets the Association for Play Therapy (APT) requirements for the Registered Play Therapy (RPT) credential and to offer comprehensive training in the areas of child,  adolescent, and family counseling. This involved the development of several play therapy  courses, including:

Old Dominion University Play Therapy Institute, Norfolk, VA (2007-2009)  Designed and implemented a Registered Play Therapist Training Program that included  a 6-session weekend workshop series that took place from October 2007 through March  2008. The workshop was sponsored by the Programs for Continued learning in the  Darden College of Education at Old Dominion University.  

Program Description: The purpose of this program was to provide a workshop series for  community clinicians, master’s students, and professionals who were interested in  learning more about play therapy or who intended to receive the training and supervised  experience necessary to become Registered Play Therapists (RPT).

Credentialing- Training programs are approved for Continuing Education by:  (1) The Association for Play Therapy (APT).

(2) The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).  

Play Therapy Certification Institute at the University of New Orleans, LA (2001-2006) A Registered Play Therapist Training Program that was originally offered in  collaboration between the University of New Orleans and the McFarland Institute and is

Program Description: The purpose of this program was to provide a year-long series of  classes and workshops for community clinicians, counseling students, and professionals  who were interested in learning more about play therapy or who intended to receive the
