CEB Press - Controller Module - Requirements
METADESIGN
- Design done in Fritzing
- Uses off-shelf, commonly available and low-cost parts.
CONTROLLER BRAIN
- Arduino as a start
MOUNTING AND MOUNTING BOARD
- Arduino and power stage attach with screws and standoffs (plastic lugs)
- Arduino will have a shield with connectors, cables leading from it, the arduino might plug right in.
- Provisions to mount the 2 potentiometers for the timing delay of some kind and the pressure switch threshold.
- Put the 5V regulator on the shield

CONNECTIONS BETWEEN BRAIN AND POWER STAGE
MANUAL SWITCHES
- Pushbutton for shaker
- Left and right for drawer cylinder
- Up and down for pressing cylinder
CASE
- Custom made laser cut plastic (how to make it weather resistant if it is custom made? The door needs a seal)
- Customizable for future applications (to what degree?)
- Weatherproof
- Scratch resistant for appearances?
- connectors on the wall of the box to interface for : 12v input power from a car battery (no power adapter here), outputs to the solenoids, and input from the pressure sensor. Master power switch on the side.
- Power on indicator/warning lamp.
POWER HANDLING STAGE

- connect relays with 18 gauge wire, 16 pin molex (connect to shield) on one side to the 5 x 3 pin headers on the other side. 18 gauge ok for the current within-box.
- 12 gauge.
OUTSIDE CONNECTORS
- Weatherproof, 6 pin molex for solenoids and 2 pin molex for analog sensor
SWITCHES
- Attempt to have switches with suitable connectors, probably into the shield.
