Dear Mr de Laszlo

I have had an interview with Miss Preston  and am doing a sketch to submit to her tomorrow Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock  before she leaves London for the West Indies  which I hope will please her [1]

My fee was not mentioned & I wondered if you had suggested to her what my fee might be  She wants a ¾ length portrait. Would you kindly advise me on this matter.[2]

Sydney Percy Kendrick (1874-1955), British artist. Kendrick was one of de László’s favoured official copyists; exhibited at the Royal Academy as a painter of genre and landscape paintings.
