Rearranging, Hiding, or Deleting Content
ARRANGING CONTENT USING QUICK REARRANGE
- There are multiple ways for you to rearrange the order of the content in your course, as well as either hiding or deleting sections you don’t cover. The easiest way to make multiple adjustments on one screen would be by using Quick Rearrange. From your course homepage (which is the first screen you see when you click on the name of your course), click on Quick Rearrange:

- In the Quick Rearrange screen, you can use the icons to the left of each folder to drag-and-drop them in the order you want. For example, if I wanted Chapter 3 to be before Chapter 2, I would click the folder icon to the left of Chapter 3, then use my mouse to drag it above Chapter 2, then click Save Changes:

- To open the folders, click on the folder icon:

If I wanted to move 3.1 to be after 1.2, I would expand both the Chapter 1 and Chapter 3 folders, then use my mouse to drag the 3.1 icon below 1.2 on the list displayed, then click Save Changes:

- You can also delete content on the Quick Rearrange screen. To do so, click Delete next to the assessment or Chapter folder you want to delete:

...and click Yes, Delete on the screen that follows (to cancel deletion here, click Nevermind):
- To exit Quick Rearrange, click Instructor in the upper right corner to get back in Instructor view:

HIDING CONTENT USING MASS CHANGE DATES
- Many Instructors hide items they are not going to use, as opposed to deleting them. Hiding an assessment ensures the students don’t see it, it can’t be accessed by the students, and it doesn’t count in the gradebook. There are multiple ways to hide assessments. One way is to click Dates under Mass Change on the left-hand side of the course homepage:

- On the Mass Change Dates page, you can toggle between Always showing an item, or showing By Dates (where you can input a Start Date and End Date), or marking an item as Hidden. To toggle between Always, By Dates, and Hidden, click in the Show column for that assignment. For example, in the screenshot below, Welcome to XYZ Homework is always showing, per it being on Always in the Show column:

If I want to hide this, I click Always in the Show column, and that changes the status to Hidden:

This is a great place to hide multiple assessments at once.
HIDING CONTENT FOR INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENTS
- You can also hide items individually by going into the Settings for a particular assignment. For example, if I wanted to hide 1.1 from the course homepage, I would click the gear icon to the right of 1.1, and select Settings:

...or click on Settings to the right of 1.1 below the calendar:

...then scroll down, chick Hide next to Show, and scroll to the bottom and select Save Changes:
