Dear Mrs. Crombie,

I, -enter name- am writing to seek justice for 62 year old Ejaz Choudry as he was murdered by Peel Regional Police on June 20, 2020 in Malton.

Uncle Ejaz had schizophrenia and was undergoing an episode when the family called for help. The police immediately barricaded the apartment, refusing to let family members in to help coax him.

The police climbed up the apartment using a ladder and did not handle the situation appropriately. They resorted to guns, and shot him to death. There were other ways of handling the situation which would not result in his death.

Today, on Father’s Day, a father of 4 is no longer alive. He did not deserve this, nor did his family.

I ask you to incarcerate the police officers who were involved in the incident. Not only that, but I ask you to implement proper training and conduct for the police. I ask you to implement body cameras so we are able to see what actually happens. I ask you to advocate for us to the Peel Police.

We cannot allow something like this to ever occur again. There are a lot of actions that need to be taken. You tweeted about changing the funding for police, however that does not bring lives back. That does not bring Ejaz Choudry’s life back.

Justice For Ejaz. A man known for his kind-hearted nature.
