My dear “Maestro”
I am more touched than I can express that Lucy has sent me a cheque of £10! It is veritably an honor that they should be in your home, but that you should buy them is still more glory for me! Thank you a thousand times, & also for the great encouragement you gave me and for your valued criticisms & instruction, which I shall endeavour to carry out, & progress in the art of painting
[Page 2]
it did me so much good to be with you all; I thoroughly enjoyed my visit & I feel always as if I was so “akin” to you & dear Lucy.
Thank you again dear Philip
Yrs affectly –
