Our learning focus for the term:

This term we are focussing on the concept of well-being  and what contributes to our well-being. We will also explore how eating healthy food impacts on our well-being.

Later in the term we will be having the Student Led Conferences, where the students will be eagerly sharing their learning with their families.

We will be continuing with e-Portfolios as a means of keeping you up to date with your child’s learning. It would be fantastic to have you post comments on your child’s blog.

Useful information

Uniforms:

Please ensure that your child is in the correct school uniform and that all items of clothing are clearly named, hat and shoes included.

All children are required to wear school hats every day in Terms 1 and 4.

All school shoes need to be plain BLACK.  Please do not buy shoes with coloured soles and laces.

Food policy:

Some children suffer from food allergies. Therefore, children are not allowed to share any food or drink with other children. Fizzy drinks, lollies/ chocolates are not allowed in school.

We encourage students to bring water to school.

Students will receive milk through the ‘Milk for Schools’ scheme. Please see your child’s teacher if you wish your child to have milk.

 Being prepared for the day:

We ask for your support in ensuring that your child has brought their bookbag with homework book and reader to school each day. It helps the children prepare for the day if they are in school before the 8.55 am bell.  Set up a routine for the beginning of the school day.  This helps your child and the teacher.  Children can come into rooms at 8.30 am.  If they arrive earlier they are to sit on the deck.

Homework:

Please spend some time every night reading with your child.

Poems, readers and library books will be sent home on a regular basis.

The reading log needs to be filled in everyday.

Phonics activities will be sent home weekly.
