Merino Wool roving, tops or short fiber batts 4 ounces (I always err on the side of

  having more than I need)

You can certainly use other types of wool such as bergschaf and perendale… I just like the softness of merino.

Decorative Fibers- different colors of merino or other wool tops, roving or short fiber batts, silk fiber, viscose fiber, wool locks, Angelina fiber, wool yarn (not washable, loosly spun is easier to felt)

Dish Soap- I use 7th Generation Unscented liquid dish soap for the majority of my felting

Olive Oil Bar Soap- I like to use this during the fulling process. I will bring a few bars

Bubble wrap

Paper to draw your pattern, tape pages together if needed to be about 24” X 24” and a pencil

Sharpie

Resist material- those plastic bubble mailing envelopes, foam cushion packing material or laminate floor underlay; should be flexible- at least 24” X 24”- your resist will be bigger than the final hat.

Duct tape- to tape resist material together if needed to make a 24” X 24” piece

TOWELS!!! Bring a few- this will be a wet project

…. you may want to use an apron or just embrace the wet!

Ball brause, water sprinkler, spray bottle

Something to hold warm, soapy water

Plastic bags (all those Hannaford bags we saved during the pandemic) to stuff in your hat as it dries
