Chandler “Chowie” Howie

  • Is a rapist

  • Abusive cycle that has continued through most of his partners/people he has slept with

  • Was asked multiple times to address the misogyny within his friends, and the ways they were disrespecting and harming every non-man that was around; said it was “none of his business”

  • Said himself he’s a narcissist and that only his romantic partners have seen the real him; not even his best friends

  • In 2018, Chowie was informed that someone who had dated Greaseball said that Greaseball had punched a mirror and pulled out a gun while drunk and in an argument. Chowie was asked to speak to his friend and address this terrifying behavior, he never did. When it was brought up to him again years later by somebody else, he acted as though he’d never heard this info before

  • When there was a sit down and attempt to talk to everybody about everything they’ve done, Chowie’s response was “we can do whatever we want and it’s not your problem”

  • Chowie directly contacted his partner’s boss in 2017 after he was informed they were having a hard time at work; Chowie sent their boss personal screenshots of them venting and letting out their frustrations about work. He thought they were incapable of advocating / speaking for themselves

  • Told Fern (his roommate) to have relations with his ex partner (“who am I to deny human connection”) only to eventually ostracize Fern and get the rest of Birote the Musical and Greaseball to ostracize Fern

  • Went on hikes and met up with people while infected with COVID

  • Said not to call 911 when Chris started having a seizure

  • Repeatedly deflects from his harmful behavior and victimizes himself, and tries to convince himself and others that the person holding him accountable is the villain (this is textbook abusive behavior)

  • Forced someone to talk about their past traumas when he did something that triggered them (even though they expressed that they didn’t want to talk about it), but then held it against them later and told them that they had too many traumas

  • Yelled at roommate when they asked him to use hand sanitizer during the pandemic

  • Repeatedly made petty “jokes” and sly remarks to Emma and Fern (roommates)  in front of others to make them feel bad, even after he was repeatedly asked not to.

  • Ended a platonically intimate relationship amicably with Emma and then degraded and ostracized her after she was intimate with someone else. He later told Fern that she had ended it to pursue someone else, the opposite of what actually happened.

  • He manipulated Emma and Neil by trying to get in between them by constantly saying hurtful remarks that he knew would affect their relationship negatively. After weeks of this Emma and Neil broke up to try and help the situation get better, and Chowie got mad at them for “making everything about them”

  • Told Emma he was thinking about moving out, splitting up birote, and buying cyanide pills because of her moving on and being with Neil, even though Chowie and Emma never had anything romantic going on at any point and Chowie was the one who ended the platonic intimacy with Emma.

  • Someone called Emma the f slur and when they got angry and went to say something Chowie repeatedly told her not to and to keep walking. (Him, a non queer person silencing a queer person)

  • While on tour, was asked not to get naked in host’s apartment but pulled out his dick when host wasn’t looking

  • Played at a house show naked even though there were minors there, also could be triggering for some people who have experienced sexual abuse

  • Got naked on the side of the freeway in LA and was seen and followed by cops, putting his marginalized friends with him at risk

  • Got fired from a job for dancing naked on the roof and posting it on social media

  • Insisted everyone be naked with him on his birthday and wanted to be whipped by everyone, kept insisting that Frank get naked too even though he expressed he wasn’t comfortable with it multiple times. Not sure if anyone else felt uncomfortable in that situation.

  • Chowie has an unhealthy hero complex; once him and some friends found an older man unconscious on the ground next to his car. Emma and Fern went to go help but Chowie stopped them and said “stay here, I’ll handle this alone.”  He lifted the up man, refusing help from others and possibly harming the man by moving him. He did not listen to the fact that he could be harming the man and just wanted to be the sole hero.

  • Has continuously made jokes about fucking Cookie the dog and his sister

Frank “Panchito” Macias

  • Said that making the House of Ruth (an organization meant to help women in abusive situations) promotional videos would bring Tik Tok followers and Birote the Musical/Cookie World clout

  • When Emma was trying to sell art to raise money for a local mutual aid fund, Frank offered to donate the difference if the goal wasn’t met as long as the Trap was credited. They only do things to help others if it benefits how Cookie World is perceived.

  • Only contacts people when he needs things from them (ie: art, music, services for Birote or Frank personally)

  • Sympathy for Trump Supporters (“not all Trump supporters”)

  • Hung out with Jonah (the abuser from Delete Insert) and invited him to the house during the pandemic while he had COVID and got roommates sick with COVID

  • Emma kept asking Frank to be more careful during the height of the pandemic during Oct-Dec 2020. Frank brought Jonah there anyway and he gave everyone COVID, but then Frank tried to blame Fern even though Fern had been getting tested consistently and was practicing social distancing

  • Invited Fern to live at the “Trap House” after denying a childhood friend who was in need of housing from moving in because “Fern had something to offer Cookie World”

  • Only allows people to live at the “Trap” if it benefits him or Cookie World, or if they have something to offer him sexually

  • Said that reappropriating and claiming gang signs was okay for him to do even though Birote the Musical grew up in mostly privileged environments far from gang activity/gang violence

  • Tried to teach children gang signs and felt that Cookie World was doing good things by doing so

  • Has a history of being overly aggressive in bed without consent. Uses excessive physical force during/around sexual situations

  • Treated Emma poorly during their polyamorous relationship. Frank could hook up with anyone regardless of Emma’s boundaries. Emma could hookup with women and Frank would not get jealous, but if Emma talked about men at all Frank would get angry. (Double standard, sexist/misogynistic/invalidating Emma’s sexuality)

  • Has consistently tried to insert himself into sexual situations involving two femmes, when it has nothing to do with him. He has tried to manipulate his way into threesomes by trying to insert himself into encounters between two femmes.

  • Gave an underage girl alcohol after he was told repeatedly that him and Birote should not have women/femmes over while they try to rehabilitate. He also took pictures on her camera being cuddly with her and then took her camera into the bathroom and took pictures of himself. They did NOT include nudity but they were meant to seem seductive. (Predatory behavior)

  • Gave an abuser and his underage girlfriend free alcohol at his work (see screenshot at the end of this document)

  • Someone has come forward about their relationship and experiences with Frank and ask that we share that here (see screenshots at the bottom of this document)

Neil “Neilito” Gross

  • Stays silent when blatantly abusive things happen in front of him to women/femmes/queers

  • Walks away when marginalized people need support/are in conflict

  • Weaponizes past traumas against his partners

  • Thanked Jaylen for bringing up removal of the t slur in their song, met demands of removing the song off streaming services at the time but since then has called them and The Groans “PC police” behind their back

  • Refused to admit that Greaseball’s abusive behavior was abusive after repeatedly having abuse explained to him. Had to call House of Ruth (an org Birote promoted and raised money for) to confirm that Greaseball’s behavior was indeed abusive. Still refused to call Greaseball an abuser after this.

  • Someone has come forward to share their personal story about Neil raping them by coercing them into unprotected sex by manipulating their emotions. After knowing he hurt this person, he made it about himself and has since never apologized to them. They asked that we share this here.

Birote the Musical

  • From 2017-2020, the art / merch that was created by any non-man for Birote was only people that they had also slept with; they would use them for what they could offer them and then they would exile them when they’re done using them or when they’d ask Birote for accountability. This has happened repeatedly with EVERY SINGLE non-man who has spent extended time or lived at “The Trap”

  • In 2018, Jaylen took a MegaBus to San Fran by themselves because Birote asked them to come record on their album. The day before they were supposed to go to the studio, Birote told them they couldn’t give them a ride because Neil didn’t want them to be there all day while he was recording vocals. Birote told them they would have to take the train from San Fran to Palo Alto (an hours long train ride in a place where sex trafficking and murder is rampant). Jaylen was upset because they had paid for their trip and took the bus alone because Birote asked them to and wouldn’t give them a ride, and still didn’t care about their safety or participation

  • Performative attendance of George Floyd protests; getting arrested and posting / laughing about it. They don’t actually do anything to help or benefit marginalized communities, even though they repeatedly claim they stand for that.

  • Jaylen asked Frank and Chowie if they could DJ a Cookieworld show and they ignored them and sat in silence. Jay told them “you can just tell me no” and they still stayed silent

  • When their roommates would ask them not to invite a specific person to the house or at least give them heads up, they would always say no or disrespect their roommates’ boundaries in the house. The people they would bring over were also abusive, antagonizing, or made one or more of their roommates uncomfortable but their boundaries were never listened to or respected.

  • Asked the Groans (one of two queer bands they’ve tokenized on their label) for money to get shirts made using stereotypical imagery of trans people for the House of Ruth donation

Joey “Greaseball” Palmerin

  • Punched a mirror and held a shotgun up to his partner during an argument; denied it ever happened when asked instead of taking accountability

  • Lied to partner claiming he was trying to include her in conversations about his accountability when he actually told her that nobody wanted her to be present

  • During conversations about Birote and Greaseball taking accountability for their abuse, he sat silently not taking accountability or deflecting all points

  • Has screamed at and been in screaming matches with non-men multiple times

  • Got into physical fight with Neil

  • Has been villainizing those who have been trying to hold him accountable by telling lies about them, especially to his partner

  • Claims others’ ideas as his own to use for his music

  • Doesn’t always credit artists that work with him

  • Said he wanted to “call out misogyny in the rap scene” but when he was told to call out the people around him, he said confrontation was aggressive and abrasive. He “thanked” the people who gave him resources to do so but never did anything tangible to change himself or others

  • Has made claims to several people that he thinks one of his partners is autistic because he says she’s “stupid” (eluding that autism is bad / ableist)

Chris Hernandez

  • Consistently mansplains to non-men and then is gaslights them when they try to confront him about it

  • Overall sexist (makes general sexist remarks)

  • Complacent, harbored a Trump supporter in the house knowing it made everyone uncomfortable

  • Invited random people over because they had drugs, even after other housemates repeatedly expressed boundaries about them coming over

  • Has threatened violence, suicide, involving the police, and involving families in retaliation for Emma and Fern taking his drugs and disposing of them safely after he almost died from a drug induced seizure

  • After his seizure, Emma and Fern gathered up all the drugs in the house, and then they found him using again 2 days later after agreeing that he’d stay sober. After that he went through their rooms and took some of those drugs back, and also took someone else’s prescription drugs in the process

  • Sold drugs to people who were already high on Xanax and driving, and who ended up getting a DUI. This put himself, all of his roommates, and the people driving at risk.

  • Fern and Emma both decided to take the drugs to a safe drug disposal space for his safety to help prevent another seizure or a potential overdose because his habitual/addictive self-medication was out of hand (NOTE: we do have proof of safe disposal of the drugs) and to ensure the safety of the house and everyone in it, Chris almost solely blamed and came after Emma. (Sexist behavior / double standards for non men)

  • Has been posting negatively only about Emma on social media

  • Chris got very angry when Emma told him they disposed of the drugs. He repeatedly sent horrible threats to Frank about Emma and to Emma directly, so she had to leave the house after this made her feel her safety was at risk. (Scroll to the end of this document to see screenshots of his threats)

NOTE: Frank wanted to keep the drugs to use himself or sell, which is hypocritical because it still puts the house at risk.

Grease also wanted to use some of the drugs, which is hypocritical.

Neil and Chowie didn’t want Fern and Emma to properly dispose of the drugs.

All four of them wanted to keep the drugs in the house, putting everybody at risk and especially Chris who already went through everyone’s rooms to find them and could overdose again.

Right around the same time, Frank and Neil’s friend passed away from a drug overdose and they still didn’t take this seriously or support Fern and Emma in their decision to safely dispose of the drugs.

  • Someone has come forward to share that Chris recently asked them to have sex with him for money and asked us to share that here (see screenshot at bottom of this document)

Home Environment:

  • Would always get angry with and would gaslight anyone who would experience anxiety / trauma around them

  • Would repeatedly get mad when asked not to drink on the road when a member of the house was on probation and in the car with them

  • Frank and Chowie got angry with Emma for asking Frank to stop driving dangerously because it was scary and triggering for them

  • Have given alcohol to underage people

  • Tried to kick Emma out with only hours notice because she held them accountable for their actions

  • Says they’re practicing polyamory but actively cheats, lies, has unsafe sex, etc. Uses polyamory as an excuse to do whatever they want sexually

  • Threatened Emma, Fern, and Jay with suicide after trying to hold them accountable for their actions (Chowie talked in depth about it and talked about buying cyanide pills, Frank said he was feeling suicidal in front of everyone because he was being held accountable, Neil has eluded to wanting to kill himself only after being held accountable, and Chris has sent terrifying texts to Frank about Emma and to Emma directly about killing himself in her house because she got rid of the drugs)

  • Their House of Ruth TikTok & donation was performative; used conflicting imagery of punching walls and holding hammers for a video that was supposed to be in support of domestic abuse survivors. Also greaseball reposted an IG story made by his friend about helping the “battered women” (a term that domestic abuse survivors don’t like being referred to as)

  • All of them left Chris alone who had just had a seizure from drug use and was still using to go deliver t-shirts for their band

  • Continuously left Chris alone while he was using drugs after his drug induced seizure; not because they had work or any commitments, but because they felt it wasn’t their responsibility to be there for their friend who was battling an addiction

Racism

  • Uses the n word repeatedly, but only in front of certain people (consistent code-switching)

  • Chowie said it’s not bad to only be attracted to Asian people or only watch porn that fetishizes Asian people

  • Chowie was asked to address the art his friend Mikey Migdat made, which included an image of a racist stereotype of Asian people; moreso Birote had the shirts printed by an Asian person who felt the image was inappropriate, and they never apologized even after being told this. They never said they would consider another design and said people won’t assume this is racist because “people know their hearts”

  • Posted a picture of Chowie in blackface on their Instagram stories, saying he “looked like a cat”. When they were confronted about it they said people were “wildin”

Homophobia

  • Greaseball used the f slur in his song Corny Rappers. The slur was removed from the song on Spotify, but it’s still in the song on YouTube

Transphobia

  • Has made negative generalizations about non binary people

  • Chowie was asked to address Birote’s lyrics in “Harriet Tubman Deepthroat” because it included the t slur, and was asked to take down the song and talk to his bandmates about why that word is transphobic and harmful; he never addressed it and said it wasn’t his problem

  • Frank had a crush on a girl but expressed disdain and disappointment when he found out she was trans

  • Misgenders trans people, even after being corrected repeatedly

  • Misgenders non binary people, even after being corrected repeatedly

  • Greaseball has insinuated that non binary people are all entitled

  • A band with trans members crashed in their living room for a few days and left a mess (the house is already always a mess) and Birote commented that trans people are entitled and shitty

Misogyny

  • Consistently demonizes  women/femmes/non men against each other so that they stay away from each other and never end up talking about their similar experiences

  • Frank tried to claim that he had traumas with Emma because “she slept with his friends” but Frank wasn’t angry with his friends who slept with Emma. Emma and everyone else involved talked to Frank beforehand and discussed boundaries and everyone was okay with what was discussed. After Emma slept with his friends, he said that he was traumatized even though he never expressed a boundary when everyone sat down to talk about what would happen. Also, Frank’s current partner is a very old friend of Emma’s, but Frank’s never brought that up as an issue. (Possessive and objectifying behavior towards Emma)

  • Frank told Neil it was awkward that Neil and Emma got together because Frank wanted to restart things with Emma at the time. Emma had no idea he felt that way and she had no intention to restart things with him. He later lied in front of everyone saying that he never said that and only admitted to it when Neil called him on it.
