How to Find Someone in ICE Detention

Contact the nearest ICE ERO Field Office for assistance: https://www.ice.gov/contact/field-offices

If the detention facility where the individual is being held is identified, contact the facility directly: https://www.ice.gov/detention-facilities

If You See ICE Agents

Confirm date, time, and location. If available, provide pictures/videos and as much information as possible
Report to the Response Team Network or Hotline

Share the info only when you have confirmed ICE’s presence. Update when ICE is no longer present to avoid creating more fear or anxiety.

Keep a Know Your Rights red card on you and by your door at all times. The red card explains your rights and that you do not have to open the door. You can slide it under the door to ICE, show it to ICE, or read the English side of the card to ICE. Have your children and other family members practice showing it or sliding it under the door. The Mexican government has developed an app called 'Consul App Contigo' . It has an alert button that if pressed for five seconds connects the Mexican national with the Mexican Consulate’s 24/7 operators. They can then provide immediate legal guidance and it also alerts the person’s emergency contacts of the detention.
The app also includes a ‘Know your Rights’ section explaining what actions people can take during encounters with ICE. It also includes a map of the 53 Mexican Consular offices nationwide and a scheduling feature.
