2014 Executive Committee
As we draw near to the Mahavir Jayanti Celebration day on April 20th, the program participants and coordinators, and all volunteers are in a fervor to get everything ready to make this a successful event.
As a new Secretary of the JSNC committee, I have a great seat in being able to observe how all the members of our community are coming together in helping every which way they can. It brings a sense of pride that I belong to that same community and feel humbled in your dedication and generous donations of time and money.
I feel that any thanks and gratitude we accord you, is not enough. But, that doesn’t mean that we don’t. And to that, to all the sponsors, volunteers, and participants, I say “Aapno Abhaar!”.
Let’s all make this a great event! Come one, come all, to the April 20th, Mahavir Jayanti Celebrations! Read forth for more details …

Mahavir Jayanti Celebration
Mahavir Jayanti is one of the largest events sponsored by JSCNC, is open to everyone and demonstrates the unity and generosity of JAIN community. The Executive committee is fully dedicated to the planning, but your support - financial and volunteer - makes this program possible and successful every year. As such, this year has been no exception for community support. On behalf of the Executive Committee 2014, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the sponsors who donated generously.
This month, and specifically on April 20th, starting at 2PM, we continue the tradition to celebrate Mahavir Jayanti at the Hindu Bhavan Cultural Hall. Please see the below table for program details:
Mahavir Jayanti Program Rehearsal
JSCNC will be holding a mandatory dress rehearsal for all program participants on April 13th, between 3:00-7:00pm. We have very limited time to complete two rounds of rehearsals. All volunteers and participants, please arrive on time so everyone gets the opportunity to complete their rehearsals.
Mahavir Jayanti Program Sponsors
As we do every year, we receive overwhelming support from new and continuing sponsors for this event. To that, we would like to recognize the following families for their generous donations towards the program. We greatly appreciate your support and contributions.
Thanks to Choreographers and Program Coordinators
It is no small feat to train youth with the awesome dances and sequences we see each year in our programs. I would like to thank you all for your time, dedication, patience and perseverance in continuing to do the same this year.
Mahavir Jayanti Program Practice
Practices will be held during Pathshala sessions. As such, there will be no Pathshala until after the Mahavir Jayanti Program. Please see the Pathshala Corner for complete information.

Supporting our Youth
As most of us already know, we have a tremendous participation by our very own Jain youths in the YJA. This is quite a feat, and we should take pride in their accomplishments as members and leaders of the YJA. As such, we should support them in any way we can. As stated above, this year, the YJA convention is being held in Washington DC, and they are asking for our help in terms of any contributions we can make towards this event.
To get a sense of the cost of this event, following are some high-level amounts for various items:

As mentioned in previous emails (Youth Pathshala dues), this year we are asking the dues be paid to JSCNC directly. We will collect and pass them on to HSNC. Note that, if you have direct auto-payments to HSNC already for this purpose, you do not have to pay twice.
To make payments, please bring a check (payable to JSCNC) to the Mahavir Jayanti program on April 20th, next Monthly meeting, or mail to Pratyush Mehta. Full information and instructions can be found at
