19th October 1923.
Dear Miss Jolley,
Please forgive me for the delay in replying to your kind letter, I have been away in the country painting and only got your letter on my return.
I thank you very much for the interest you have taken in the matter of which you write to me, but I am sorry to say that at the moment I am unable to make use of your kind suggestion, as we are leaving next week for Rome.[1] After that I have to go to Paris for a fortnight, and will not return to London until the end of November or beginning of December. If the matter is still then possible, I hope we will come to an understanding and I will again write to you.
Again many thanks | Believe me, | Yours sincerely,
Miss E.M. Jolley,
37 Norfolk Street,
Strand,
W.C.2
