Aviation Scholarship List
In an effort to support outstanding student pilots, the AOPA Foundation will be awarding various scholarships, ranging from $2,500 to $12,000.
Joshua Esch Mitchell Aviation Scholarship
To be eligible for the Joshua Esch Mitchell Aviation Scholarship, students must be United States citizens, enrolled full- or part-time at a college or university in the United States providing an accredited flight science curriculum. Applicants must be second-year students or above with a minimum 2.75 GPA pursuing studies in the field of professional pilot with an emphasis in general aviation, aviation management, or aviation safety. A valid pilot's certificate (not to include a student certificate) is required. A letter of recommendation from a professional in the aviation field is required.
EAA’s scholarship program encourages, recognizes and supports excellence among those studying the technologies and the skills of aviation. These annual scholarships help outstanding students who demonstrate financial need to accomplish their goals.
Applicants should be well-rounded, involved in school and community activities as well as aviation. Academic records should show that you can successfully complete the educational activity for which you are applying. Please check individual scholarship descriptions for any special considerations. You must be a current EAA member or recommended by a current EAA member to apply for these scholarships.

Women in Aviation International is a non-profit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation career fields and interests. The purpose of the Women Soaring Pilots Association is to promote all aspects of soaring for women glider pilots.
International Society of Women Airline Pilots - November 16th deadline
International Society of Women Airline Pilots is an association of licensed women airline pilots. Members are found on six continents, flying as cockpit crew members for the world's passenger and freight airlines. ISA+21 provides mutual support via networking and publications. They work to enhance tolerance and understanding among their coworkers. ISA+21 supports pilot hopefuls via scholarships and communications.

Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals
The OBAP provides a number of scholarship opportunities to help airline-oriented pilots. You must already have a private pilot license to apply for flight scholarships, and are evaluated on an essay submission, letters of recommendation, professional development, and a face-to-face interview. Participation in OBAP is weighed heavily, also. Membership is not limited based on ethnicity; anyone that believes in the mission of OBAP may join.

Each year, APS offers a scholarship for a Professional Pilot Upset Training program to deserving pilots just embarking on their aviation careers. Upset Prevention & Recovery Training (UPRT) is dedicated pilot training developed specifically to mitigate the risk of loss of control in flight. A $1,500 Scholarship is being offered to a deserving individual, who is pursuing a career in an aviation related field. Charlie Wells Memorial Aviation Scholarship
Scholarship(s) of varying amounts will be awarded each year when funds are available and may be applied to obtaining a license or a new rating. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be enrolled/attending school regularly, or already have a high school diploma or GED. App deadline April 30th.
Hal Botsford "Gift of Wings" Scholarship
$1,000 award. This annual fund will award a student grant(s) to be used for a sky ride(s), a student's flight lessons, or the pursuit of a new rating. Apps are due August 1st.
Chicago Area Chapter 99s Santori Memorial Scholarship
A $2,000 award to assist a 99 in the completion of an additional pilot certificate or rating. Applicants must be a current pilot with the appropriate medical certificate and must be approaching the flight time requirement for the desired rating or certificate.
A $1,000 award to assist a Student Pilot 99 toward completion of an initial pilot certificate, in any aircraft. Applicants must have soloed, and, if required for the pilot certificate sought, must have a current medical certificate and must have passed the written exam. Must be a current member of The 99s residing in the North Central Section and a member in good standing.

Marie Grein Ninety-Nines Scholarship
Marie Grein has been a 99s member for over 20 years and says, "Joining The 99s has enriched my life beyond measure." She wants to offer the same opportunity to another lady pilot and is offering a $1,000 scholarship for initial flight training towards a private certificate to a woman who is 30 years of age or older. Applicants must provide their passing score on the private pilot written exam. Apps due on April 2nd.
Audrey M. Beavin established the Wilfred M. and Audrey M. Beavin Educational Trust (the
“Foundation”) to provide assistance to students pursuing an education in the aviation or
aerospace industries. The Foundation focuses its support on students in Missouri, Kansas,
Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky, taking into account the
financial needs of the student. The Foundation came into existence in 2015.

Youth Scholarships - Learning for Life Aviation Explorers Scholarships
An Aviation Explorer can apply for multiple National Aviation Explorer Scholarships by submitting one standard application to the local council Learning for Life office for approval.
