The course is about half pavement and half grass/trail.  There are wooded sections of the course.  There a few hills, but no giant ones.  We pride ourselves on a well-marked course with several volunteers to help direct you along the correct route.  The start and finish are both at the entrance to the Western School transportation building.  Will there be a place to change/shower after the race?

We will have available spaces to change before and after the race. Showers will also be available.

Who can come?

How do I register?

Registration will be available through Eventbrite beginning May 1st, 2017.

How do I know if I'm registered?

You should receive an email confirmation from Eventbrite upon registration. If you do not remember receiving this email, please log into your Eventbrite account and click on “Tickets”. If you are registered, these should appear under “Upcoming Events”.

What if I can't come?

If you find that you will not be able to come to camp, please login to Eventbrite and click on tickets. You will be able to cancel your tickets from there.  There is no need to contact us directly.

Can I register on-site?

No.  Students MUST be pre-registered to attend.  There will be no on-site registration.  If you have not received a registration confirmation, your student will not be allowed to attend.

How does it work?

Students are assigned to groups based on age. Most groups will visit 3 authors/illustrators in 30 minute rotation blocks.  Some will visit 2 authors in 45 minute blocks.  All students will go home with a book from one of the authors/illustrators they visited and will have a chance to get that book signed at the end of the night.

My student is a big fan of one of the author who is coming to camp. Can we request that he or she be in that author's group?

We cannot honor request to place students in groups with friends or with specific authors.

Can you please place my student with his/her sibling/friend?

With 1000+ students registered for camp, it is simply too difficult for us to take requests for group placements. We place students with authors/illustrators appropriate for their ages and with students in the same grade.

Can parents come?

Yes! A parent or guardian must be present at check-in. After checking in your student, you are welcome to hang out in the cafeteria/commons area during camp.  If there is a special case where you believe your students needs to have you in the room during camp, we can make accommodations for that as well.

Is food provided?

A light pizza diner with chips will be provided. If your students has dietary concerns that may be an issue, you are welcome to pack food for him or her to eat.
