Solar Powered Cars

I had an immensely fun time learning about solar power and creating my solar powered car. I think it is interesting that the sun produces 1000 watts per sq mt but yet we don’t take advantage of it. I learned that a photon is what you call a unit of light energy. I also learned a lot about the atom silicon and its connection to solar power. I learned that solar panels are almost like sun glasses because they reflect the sun. Most solar panels have an anti reflective coating to help them absorb more sunlight.

Constructing my car was both a fun and difficult process. It was a little hard to make all of the measurements exact. I also learned new vocabulary like chassis and axles.  I learned a lot about gears and what makes for a good smooth ride. One of the most daunting things i've done in my life was sauntering. The first time it was very difficult and I got very frustrated. After I did that one I got in my grove and was able to finish it without too many problems. The final assembly was a little tricky because I wasn't doing the best job reading the instructions. I both liked and disliked all of the independence assembling my car. I thought it was a little challenging understanding some of the instructions. I liked that we got to work at our own pace.

Next time I would probably read the instructions more carefully and maybe try to go a little slower. I would definitely recommend this project to others. I would probably tell them to read the instructions very carefully.  As well as to have confidence in them self while making their car and especially while sauntering. All in all I think this was a very fun project and I think I learned a lot from it.
