This portrait drawing, inscribed with the signature of don Gonzalo, was probably done by de László at the same time as the portrait drawing of the sitter’s elder brother, don Jaime [110534], also autographed by the sitter. It is likely that the artist made both these portrait drawings as mementos of his stay at the Palacio Real with the Royal Spanish family in 1927. Thus they remained in his possession.
