OPENING SCHOOL PLAN: Start Date August 24th, Yellow Zone
WCS will open in the Yellow Zone of Operation for the In-Person Education Option 1. This is a blended plan where students will attend school in-person 2 days per week and 3 days will be remote learning. Our Remote Learning process has been improved based on feedback from the Spring and students will begin working with devices in school right away to ease that transition. This plan allows students and staff to learn new health and safety procedures in small groups while maintaining the recommended 6 feet of social distancing. You will be informed of your child’s schedule in August.
Students in the same family/household will be scheduled together.
In-Person Education will start on Aug 24, 2020
Yellow Zone | Group A | Group B |
Student Schedule | In Person: Monday and Thursday Remote: Tue, Wed, Fri | In-Person: Tuesday and Friday Remote: Mon, Wed, Thu |
Note: Students with a disability that have academic goals on their IEP attend school in-person on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and for a half-day on Wednesday.
PreSchool |
Week 1 (Aug 24-Aug 28): Students will attend the regular half-day PreSchool program in split groups for 2 days.
Week 2: The preschool program will run our regularly scheduled program starting the week of August 31st (half day programming in the AM/PM Monday through Thursday).
PreSchool Parents will be contacted with more information and the orientation date to learn about the new safety guidelines for PreSchool. |

REVIEW YOUR OPTIONS
OPTION 1
| In-Person Education Details - This education option is dependent on the current Zone of Operation.
- Changing community conditions, staffing levels, guidance from the Health Department, and/or Government directives can determine the Zone of Operation.
- The Zones may change throughout the year.
- Remote Learning in zones Yellow or Red will be different from the Virtual Education Option. RL will be an improved version of what we did in the Spring.
- The District will follow recommended guidelines and safety protocols to minimize risk, however being in a public place and congregate setting (In-Person Education in our Yellow and Green Zones) has a certain level of risk that cannot be eliminated. Those risks should be factored into a parent’s choice of In-Person or Virtual Education.
