1.0 Summer photo competition

Due to the popularity of our photo competition run earlier this year, we have decided to give all our budding photographers another chance to show off their skills with a summer photo competition. So get your camera out this summer and take plenty of snaps ready for a screening early next year!

Entries can be made under the following categories:

The viewing will occur in the biology tea room (Building 17) (exact date to be confirmed early next year). You will need to print out a copy of your photo and bring it along (or give it to a committee member prior) in order for it to be pinned up on the day. A short caption should also be prepared. Photos should also be emailed with captions to third.year.rep@biologicalsociety.com.au

2.0 Friends Of Frankston Reservoir Volunteers

(see link attached)

FFRV are seeking the support of dedicated volunteers to join the committee in preserving and preparing the reserve for its opening to the public. This will occur through monthly working-bees held on the second Sunday of each month. Additionally, the committee is seeking individuals to fill opportunities in technical support; ranger assistance; graphic design for promotion and signage; and working bee participation. Positions would ideally suit candidates with a background in Science, Environmental Science or Engineering, but this is not a prerequisite and all students are encouraged to apply. After completion a reference will be provided at request to candidates. If you are interested in applying, please send a short CV and Statement of Purpose to Lara Howden (ljhow3@student.monash.edu), or for any enquiries.

3.0 Boston Consulting Group

(see link attached)

The Boston Consulting Group is seeking expressions of interest from curious and committed Moansh Science students for positions which will begin recruitment in 2015.

4.0 Upcoming in 2015

Keep your eyes open for some of the great events coming up in 2015! Early in the semester we will be holding our OGM where a few positions will be up for grabs (first year rep, assistant treasurer, assistant secretary). If you or somebody you know would be interested more information on nominating will be available early next year.

5.0 Invitation to contribute to BiolSoc
