Ideas for Attracting/Retaining Staff

The following are ideas to help attract/retain staff members, as well as create a bond between the employees of The Hilton Garden Inn together. Note: some of these only apply to employees of the Manager level (*)

Hilton Honors Program

Daycare Supplement

Company Conventions

College Scholarships

Potential Orientation Program

From the first day at The Hilton Garden Inn, a new employee gets to experience the company's culture through a full day’s interactive orientation. New employees are introduced to a historical account of the company, as well as its mission and goals. The day is composed of benefits information, a policy review, and a mixture of service activities. After the tour of the facility, the new employees will have a scavenger hunt based around where their job will be, what tools they use, and what resources they will have available. Depending on what job each new hire has they may be doing the scavenger hunt in teams to help promote healthy teamwork and problem solving. If they are hired for a job that relies heavily on independance they will be participating independently. In essence, the new employees will be given access to all resources that would normally be at their disposal during a day (or night) on the job.
