First, thank you so much for taking the time to read our update. We have had an amazing summer and we also feel like September and October are the best time of the year so we are still going strong. You are an amazing group of students we want to thank each and everyone of you for all that you bring to the table - especially your friendship. We appreciate your trust, your enthusiasm and your commitment.
As we move into the Sept. 19-26 timeframe – we have a few updates for you.
Both Turtle and Chris will be gone to some extent during this time period.
Have a look at this forecast ---> not too good.

Blake (303 378 6763) and Pat ( 801 209 5509) will be at the helm with the usual support from Ben and Will. Tweets will be sent out as normal.
We need to ask for your cooperation so that this time period goes smoothly for them. Here are our requests:
- we will limit chair flights during this time
- we ask you only RSVP to lessons where the weather seems favorable and the session will be productive
- if you have been flying with us for a while, please take some personal responsibility for your equipment:
- radios - order a pair here ---> https://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Talkabout-T400-Rechargeable-Two-Way/dp/B00W75BLVS/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1505771395&sr=1-7&keywords=motorola+frs and get really familiar with them - how to turn on, turn up, change channel, transmit, lock etc. We have lots of batteries but it’s your job to make sure that yours have a good charge. You’ll want a few radio holders in the end too - you can get them at Super Fly
- you should have your own helmet and have a solid log of which gliders you have been using - no time like the present to update your log
- If you have more than 25 flights, you should have your own harness and reserve by now, consider stopping by Super Fly to try some on
- if you have more than 35 flights, you should be zoning in on a glider
- take personal responsibility for being a USHPA Member - we always do a 30 day temporary form with you but if you have been in the program for more than 30 days you need to do a new one. Even better, become a full member ---> (note, you need to print this and send it in and you don’t have and don’t need a USHPA # < you’ll get one once you send in your membership>)
https://www.ushpa.org/legacy/forms/Form_Membership_Application_with_Waiver.pdf
- We also ask that you remind the instructors of your name, your general experience level, what you are working on and how many flights you have on a daily basis. In short, please make it really easy on them. Again, tweets will be sent out as normal.
NOTES: ( this document is wide open so feel free to make notes for us below ) let us know when you are might be able coming out, if you have any needs that we should address etc.

Chris - This is Scott Newcomer[a]. I took some lessons with you last year at this time and have continued flying here in Southern California. Will be flying in tomorrow through the evening of the 25th. Bummer you will be out. Looking to work towards my P3! But understand the weather might not be cooperating this week :). Also looking to get some equipment, so maybe we can catch up if you are around later in my trip (maybe I should switch my return flight!)
[a]Hey buddy - remind me of your weight and what are you flying currently?
