Claire Beildeck Arnheim was born in Philadelphia in 1919.  She moved to Pittsburgh in 1940 when she married Stanley Walter Arnheim.  She actively supported her husband in the real estate firm of Arnheim & Neely, Inc.  Claire Arnheim was the first woman to join the Pittsburgh Board of Realtors.

Claire served on the boards of various community organizations including Rodef Shalom Congregation and its Sisterhood, and the Pittsburgh Blind Association.  She was a life member of National Council of Jewish Women and Ladies Hospital Aid Society.  She supported interfaith and interracial community programs.  In the 1960s she traveled to local high schools presenting scholarships to students for the American Jewish Committee.  For many years she tutored math and reading students at Sterrett and Madison schools in Pittsburgh.

In her husband’s memory, Claire Arnheim established the Stanley W. Arnheim Camping Fund of the Boy Scouts of America.

Of her many accomplishments, Claire would probably like to be remembered most for her love of family and friends.  She enjoyed card games, fishing, baseball, jazz and dancing.  She was an avid supporter of Pittsburgh and the Number One fan of the city.
