First Placement:

1E:

People with 1E can be described to have one of the most strong emotional spheres, along with 2E. Usually if you were to ask them, “Hey, what emotion are you feeling right now?” they wouldn’t have a difficult time answering honestly. You’ll often hear the phrase “strong emotional realm” when considering 1E, which is pretty accurate rate. They feel emotions very deeply and truly, whether they be kept internal or external doesn’t matter. 1E’s will often feel rather comfortable expressing their emotions and won’t care what others think of them necessarily, “liking” or “approving.” 1E’s will often believe that they are good at reading others’ emotions which could be true or false. It really depends on the person. But they will probably think something like, “Oh I have a deep understanding of these said emotions, I see how they are looking, and this is what they’ve just gotta be feeling!” Feelings in general to the 1E are quite important and when the 1E feels that they should be able to express one emotion, then they do. The 1E expresses an emotion(s) and does so expecting an outcome rather than a process. They are more often than not led by their heart, and their emotions have a 100% chance of effecting any sort of decision that the 1E has to make, which can cause them to sometimes be rather quick on making decisions, leading some to draw the conclusion that they are “reckless.” Because of the fact that 1E’s are very reactive, they have a high chance of acting completely differently towards different situations because of this. 1E’s are in the mindset where they feel like they can say what they wish due to their emotional drive & that doesn’t need any sort of apology usually in their mind. They are able to express themselves freely as mentioned earlier, & don't have a hard time laughing at things. They like to use metaphors & like to toy with different ideas in their speech. 1E’s trust they gut a ton, & feel that what they feel is true. 1E’s also have a tendency to romanticize things around them to not have things around them come off as boring; they like to spice things up. They don’t need everything to be explained, if someone feels a certain way, then that’s enough explanation for them/themselves. Growing up, people mostly likely called them over-the-top or over dramatic in general which they naturally were hurt by.

To sum it up…

1E’s have quite the rich emotional realm & feel no restraint or remorse when they express their emotions. They believe that feelings are feelings, & that in itself is a valid reasoning for most anything. They’re quite reactive to things, & don’t usually tend to look back on their emotional expressiveness. They enjoy talking about emotions for the most part & feel comfortable with emotions in general.

——————————————

1L:

When describing a 1L, most people gravitate towards the plain adjective: “smart.” This is what people automatically assume when they hear “first logic” but this is only truthful due to the fact that 1L is one of the more outspoken types about their logic to others. 1L’s could definitely be considered as stubborn, seeing as how they firstly come up with their own logical perspective/opinion (which is important to them to deduct alone) — & while others give out their ideas, the 1L will continue to stick with their own ideas — giving them the title of “stuck-up” in an immature descriptive word. When it comes to logical thinking & theorizing, 1L’s main goal is to find a point or a truth to the subject, it’s less so about the process. They aspire to slim down their explanations to others to just the necessary details, leaving out the unimportant ones as to not overload the person they are talking to — though, the 1L’s idea of necessary details might be different from others’ idea of necessary details; THEY leave out what THEY think might not be important. They ASPIRE to do this, meaning that it might not sometimes be the case; which would probably end up with the 1L including a ton of details & monologuing rather than consistently engaging with the person they are talking/teaching to. 1L’s feel that there has to be a point for everything, or else it just doesn’t make any sense to exist in the first place. They are quite inflexible when it comes to this, as they feel that there is a right & wrong way to do things, which is a main cause of conflict in their life. When it comes to debates, the 1L will stay out of the conversation unless they feel that they are fully knowledgeable in the subject, that’s when they would be down to debate standing with their opinion firmly. This brings me to the point of how 1L’s like to be prepared for things, so they’ll have a speech written out for example, & then they’d only stick to what they wrote. This can allow for the opposing party to talk about something that hasn’t been written down in the 1L’s speech, leaving the 1L feeling not knowledgeable even to comment, which is a gute weakness. When a 1L is proven to be wrong in their logic, they’ll most likely blame it on “not having access to that knowledge” as they have a hard time admitting that they were wrong. If the 1L was presented with new information, they’ll have to pass it through their own personal logic’s filter before accepting it.

To sum it up…

1L’s are quite stubborn when it comes to bending their own personal logic, as they find themselves to be right constantly, even if it’s subconsciously. They’re weakness would be considered being inflexible, as they don’t adapt to new information well plus they feel the need to be prepared with knowledge in order to take part in any debate, they don’t like to improvise.

——————————————

1V:

1V’s are mostly correlated with the behavior of goals. In this case, 1V’s can be described truthfully as quite determined & confident about their goals & aspirations. They aren’t afraid of bending moral ideals in order to reach their goals either, making them seem like they feel superior to the majority of others. 1V’s don’t have a hard time making decisions, rather they default to making them for others sometimes — deeming them as natural leaders. The 1V usually always has an idea set in place for what people should be doing around them in group settings, & won’t really hesitate to let a person know that they aren’t doing the right thing (in their mind). Keeping that in mind, 1V’s don’t like when others order them around, so they can get rebellious towards authoritarian figures. They’re quite the walking contradiction, because once someone in charge uses their “power” “against” a 1V, they’ll work hard to get that power back, but then use it just as the other figure was. A really good passage I read describes a deeper understanding of a 1V that I thought was perfectly worded; “Some of the tragedy of 1V's feeling of being chosen is that they begin to distort their personality in accordance with the ideas of how "the chosen one" should behave - 1V begin to dictate to the lower functions only those forms of expression that they consider worthy of a ‘king’. So the life of 1V turns into constant self-torture, where control reigns over everything. No weaknesses, attachments, temptations, no relaxation. Everything that tries to unsettle this rut they get rid of.” The 1V can even become too confident, ultimately resulting in a failure, but this doesn’t phase them as much as it would a 3V; they will still be hurt from the blow of failure, but a 1V will be able to rather quickly restore themselves & go to [other] goals. 1V’s deem what they find to be of importance as worthy/of value, while all other things that have no reason are not important & aren’t worthy of carrying out — they don’t do things without having some sort of meaning. When it comes to their own interests & ideals for themself, when any of those are violated, the 1V won’t give up on those interests for themself, but will rather get away from whatever caused them to be violated. They also treat themselves harshly as well, feeling the need to complete their goals & such.

To sum it up…

1V’s are very determined people objectively. They can quickly make goals for themselves & for others, & will go after them with such a strong drive that even moral ideals can be pushed to the side. A weakness of the 1V is their struggle to keep up with the high standards they placed on themself causing an unhealthy amount of ambition & a disregard for their own emotional realm. They overall have strong beliefs for themselves & others, & these ideas aren’t able to be rid of easily.

——————————————

1F:

When most people hear First Physics, most attribute the aspect to being very image-oriented & such, but there’s a lot more to it than that. They like to keep themselves up to date on the latest trends (to their liking) & gadgets, but can also be considered to be careful with their money. A 1F is going to rather buy something decorative & beneficial over something useless yet nice, they’ll buy things for their own personal comfort. Their personal comfort levels are going to be different than others (of course varying per person), but, “They organize their world as it suits them - their own sense of comfort is of the highest value, so they're very unhappy when their comfort is disturbed. Comfort doesn't necessarily mean warmth and coziness: for some it's a house that sparkles with cleanliness, and others it's an old couch and a robe.” They don’t get why a life should be lived without comforts, & they’re ready to defend them at any moment, readily having an explanation as to why they bought such an item. 1F’s like to stick to their own tastes, rarely budging & taking external advice from others about themselves & their physical comfort. They do things that pass their comfort level expectations, either leaving behind those that aren’t or manipulating them into fitting their standard. The 1F isn’t usually going to get jealous over someone’s physiology, but rather they’d get easily jealous over someone having more possessions than them, for a lack of a better sentence. They honor loyalty quite strongly, & don’t take kindly to their trust being broken, their “possessions” of sorts leaving them behind or being taken, especially when the act is being done behind closed doors from the 1F. The Syntax Of Love writing details how the 1F has always had an impulsive side, where when possessions are taken for example, they’ll impulsively resort to influencing the situation using force, such as violent behaviors. Though usually when this happens, they hold quite the restraint on themselves & sort of ball up their fist in the corner type of deal. Minor blows to the 1F’s physics are like a travesty to them, & they really do deal a number on their self-confidence & personality. The idea of time scares the 1F; the idea of losing their youth & such. It reveals a childlike sense of fear of theirs to grow old & lose themselves. A 1F usually won’t have any trouble with the idea of creating something, mechanics/crafts, & even likes the idea of decorating & creating in general. When I say “likes the idea of…” I mean the 1F doesn’t create things for a vague end goal, things need to be precise & useful in that matter, having a clear end goal.

To sum it up…

1F’s are quite the controlling group. They like what they like & enjoy their personal comforts happily. They are subject to jealousy when someone looks to be better than them in the physics realm, yet they all get these feelings in varying ways. They can be quick to impulsivity (sometimes anger) when their attributes of physics are provoked, changed, or seen as “less than.” 1F’s like to be precise with their presenting image, & wish to be perceived as how they want to. They strongly honor loyalty, & dislike being lied to a lot.

——————————————

Second Placement:

2E:

2E’s are often described as provocative & playful. They’re mostly open in terms of emotional expression, but can perhaps be this way in order to get a reaction from somebody. The 2E will then use this reaction in order to clarify their relationship status with said person. They like to know things about people, often enjoying conversations having to do with the emotional realm in general. 2E’s know how to navigate situations well when it comes to expressing the right emotions at the right times, & usually won’t have a very hard time finding the right words to match the atmosphere, they try to be as appropriate as possible. They might even be so influential that they can maneuver the situation around them to fit all in the same emotional wavelength. This allows 2E’s to gain the attributes of charming and/or charismatic. The 2E also feels a natural want to help people, as lifting people’s spirits is almost a natural want for them as it isn’t too difficult for them in the first place. They tend to give a lot of reassurance to others since they don’t struggle looking for their responses of reassurance. This reassurance can often be helping the other person feel more comfortable expressing their own emotional turmoil, in which the 2E’s will usually encourage. Though the 2E does enjoy a good mysterious person in which they can analyze without the person’s emotions being on full display simply. They are mainly others-focused when it comes to emotions, so they’re not really as focused on their own emotions most of the time, even sometimes leading them to forget to take theirs into consideration.

To sum it up…

2E’s are pretty open in the emotional realm. They don’t have trouble maneuvering around conversations having to do with emotion, often adding their own thoughts as to what they’ve analyzed & such. 2E’s have quite the way with words, in which they have the ability to manipulate the emotional atmospheres around them for better or for worse. They like to help others, often encouraging others to express themselves freely & making the area around them. comfort zone.

——————————————

2L:

2L’s are often given the name “the debaters.” They crave interesting discussions, not just one-sided ramblings/monologues (rather, those make them uncomfortable to perform and/or listen to), 2L’s will do a good job involving the other person in conversation with them. They will often kick start a conversation with a question rather than a statement, as they truly have a deeper level of understanding regarding social conversing which allows them to excel at it. “‘If I ask you a question, it doesn’t mean that I don’t know the answer, It just makes me more comfortable to talk to you.’” (Syntax of Love) Or, they’ll throw out a bait for others to catch. 2L’s are quite open-minded, & don’t see any logic to be absolute, rather everything should be considered when attempting to reach a final judgment on something. They don’t hold their logical opinions to be more important than anyone’s, & even often have little regard for what they say, making others perceive that as reckless & irresponsible. 2L’s are ready to discuss/debate something without being prepared or very knowledgeable in the subject at hand, as their mind’s plasticity is their shield against embarrassment. An important thing to note about the 2L, is that they look more for logical conclusions for temporary measures. They rarely will make logical conclusions for the goal of permanence, which can at times be their downfall. The idea of solving something in the framework of having a beginning and an end is incredibly unappealing to the 2L, as they don’t spend time looking for an “absolute truth” such as a 1L. Another short thing to note, is they don’t like writing out their notes of logic on paper, as discussion is their main playing field.

To sum it up…

2L’s are incredibly skilled in the ways of conversation, being not only a good listener, but a great conversationalist in general. They prefer participating conversations rather than long monologues of logical elements. The 2L isn’t going to look for an absolute truth nor do they see ideas as absolute fact, they’re very flexible & rather look for short-term logical conclusions as opposed to permanent ones.

——————————————

2V:

A fitting term for a 2V is “delegator.” They like to include all parties in matters of decisions & such, making sure no one feels/is secluded or left out of the discussion. They don’t like making quick cut decisions, they prefer deliberating a decision with everyone before taking action on anything. 2V’s feel okay with being in the position of leader or follower, whatever works best for the group; though they wish to be somewhere in the middle usually. They have freedom of their own mind, aren’t usually a subordinate of someone, yet want to help others pursue their own freedoms by helping guide them to making decisions & find their passions. Mistakes & moments of failure don’t really affect the 2V as much as a 3V, 2V’s are seemingly fearless & very flexible in this aspect. They’re actually quite selfless, a quote from Syntax of Love describes this idea; “Love is understood by the 2nd Will as sacrifice, not consumption. It is much more important for [them] to love than to be loved.” They see things more simply, love is to give, etc. & they don’t really have ulterior motives, they aren’t very secretive people for it is described that there is nothing to be kept secret. Compared to the 1V & 3V, the 2V is able to admit their mistakes easily, seeing no reason to not; they’re perfectly okay with expressing their ideas & values. The 2V will also be able to adequately respond when others discuss their own personal ideas & values, they like these discussions. However, they do prefer to not “impose” their values onto others, so they might prefer to take a back seat during some situations & prefer to observe. It is described that the 2V’s kindness comes off as an indifference to people, this mainly stems from the fact that they see everyone as equal, they have respect for everyone, but never have prodded at anyone really. This can sometimes come off as specifically not being involved heavily in politics for example, or social movements. They aren't as weak as others can perceive them to be, they have a strong sense of self & have a fair amount of confidence in who they are will dignity. 2V’s don’t really have a lot of ambition to be extremely great & famous in their lives, rather they crave self-realization, the achievement of understanding their role in the social world. This is manifested by not a lack of ambition, but a large indifference to the glory that most try to achieve, leaving them with performing little action to achieve the top spots in society. Continuing the previous discussion of how 2V’s are a guidance to others, they root more for others’ achievements over their own personal ones, leading them to the little action taking just explained as well as becoming an inspirational motivator to those around them.

To sum it up…

2V’s see the world in a horizontal way; all things are equal & deserve equal levels of respect. This can come off as an indifference to things, leaving them with a strong sense of self & personal levels of freedom since they don’t merge with social groups due to that indifference. 2V’s are also incredibly inspirational to others, as they promote others’ achievements over their own. They don’t impose their values on others, & encourage others to find their personal values themselves.

——————————————

2F:

2F’s really aren’t the type to be very insecure about themselves, they value themselves, can take inspiration from anything, & are flexible in their viewpoints regarding the realm of physics. Leading them to be also classified as adaptive & resourceful. They love to take care of the things around them, spreading their physics care to those close by. Though, they do have their limits regarding personal physics, where they can see certain things that go past their limits as gross. They are comparatively less “thick-skinned” as 1F’s when presented with things that go past their limit. 2F’s like to be on the move & to not stay idle, they tend to have energy & fit stamina for the activities they like to participate in. They’re able to work for long periods of time regardless of the benefits coming from said work, leading them to be named the “work-a-holic.” 2F’s like new & novel things, so they’re more than willing to take control when abnormal activities arise, they can even teach others during these circumstances, exemplifying more the caring self that was explained earlier. They also might be collectors of some sort specifically, 2F’s are quite crafty & like to make things more efficient to use & such. Regarding 1F’s, 2F’s are a lot more flexible in terms of financial situations. 1F’s are more “stingy” & prefer to keep their money for better things, while 2F’s will spend their money readily & safely. Even if they do spend too much, this doesn’t stop them from doing what they want to do, making them more adaptive & more chilled than the 1F’s. This fact can lead one to agree that the 2F is sort of fearless. They leap into situations without thinking too much about them, but things will usually end up working out for the 2F again mainly due to their resourcefulness & ability to move on from things. They are not very prone to violence, but when they do turn towards the path of aggression to face a situation, they’ll still be driven by justice rather than hatred; “…transformed into a ‘Robin Hood’…” (Syntax Of Love). They mainly want to do good for those around them, not really ever being motivated by hatred, sadness, & such negative emotions.

To sum it up…

2F’s are very adaptive & open regarding the world of physics. They aren’t too picky about what they like & dislike, but they too have their limits of comfortableness. They like to take care of others, giving physical advice & aid to those close to them, & are able to do this freely & with a sense of purpose & happiness. 2F’s are also quite crafty, where they can take things & make them more efficient. This also plays out through a 2F’s experiences, where if they are presented with a new & strange situation, they are able to take it & go with it, making it better &/or are just able to get through it with somewhat of an ease factor for themselves. With this in mind, 2F’s are able to jump into different situations & can be possibly seen as even “reckless” to others, but they know what they can & what they can’t do. They like to do good for people are rarely resort to violence.

——————————————

Third Placement:

3E:

3E’s are often considered the coldest types emotional expressions wise, which isn’t entirely off. A 3E’s dream is to be able to open up their feelings & thoughts to other people, but deathly fear the judgment & unappreciation from those around them. In this case, they tend to keep their emotions to themselves, bottling them up & remaining deep inside their emotions mentally. However when they do express their emotions, they have the most pleasure indulging in the small things and experiencing each & every detail—they wish they could do it more often. These moments will often look uncharacteristically abnormal to those close to the 3E & can come off as awkward. Nonetheless, 3E’s are still seen as genuine and sincere people overall. As a young child, 3E’s were probably seen as very easy to deal with, as they didn’t necessarily complain about things or cry since they weren’t very emotionally expressive, this pattern carried into long-term expressive issues. In comparison to 1E, when asked the question, “How are you feeling right now?”, a 3E would struggle to answer. They don’t fully understand their feelings to the point where they can say they’re feeling one thing, but then doubt themselves entirely. 3E’s like to feel safe. This is especially seen where they can come off as overly accommodating in foreign social situations in which they feel at risk in. They can even come off as charming in these moments, but will only put on this friendly side to those they are in connection to, they’ll probably be away from those who don’t. 3E’s have the ability to sort of mask themselves in order to not show emotion. They mostly utilize this as a defense mechanism, twisting the situation around them to avoid talking about their emotions. They can be very flip-floppy in terms of how they view others’ emotional expressiveness, sometimes they’ll view it as being sweet & will appreciate it, other times they’ll find it peculiar & unneeded. This does go to an extent though; when there’s too much emotion expressed the 3E can see it as overly tacky and they’ll pull-away from that. When they do emotionally express themselves on a normal basis (not the sort of extremes I was mentioning earlier) they can come off as very strained & rigid.

To sum it up…

3E’s are naturally very emotionally strained. They prefer to feel their emotions in silence, in fear of external judgment & ridicule. They dream of being able to express themselves freely, but there’s a large metaphorical wall blocking them from doing so; the fear mentioned before. When they do feel emotions however, they enjoy it. They want to feel every detail & piece that they can, which can seem uncharacteristic of them to others. 3E’s don’t really understand their emotions & will doubt their feelings as well. Finally, 3E’s can also twist situations around them to make them not so emotionally focused as a defense mechanism.

——————————————

3L:

3L’s are called the “skeptics.” They have a sort of complicated relationship with the logical aspect, where they claim they don’t like reason/logic, & yet they’ll secretly sort of crave or love it in general. They stay mostly silent as they are cautious about their assumptions as well as how they’re perceived. They don’t want to be seen as just smart, though they do see themselves as more intelligent than a lot of people around them subconsciously. For example, they’ll explain how logic is not useful, in order to be called smart for their nuanced take. 3L’s will fear backlash from their words, condemning them to the silence mentioned earlier, fleeing away from logical disputes. The 3L fears these long discussions of reason due to the fear of general perception. This leads me to my next point which is how 3L’s do actually like idle conversation though. Discussions without the assignment of “smart” & “dumb” people (they fear being labeled “dumb”) are what they enjoy most, they actually flourish in them, murmuring topics of interest with passion. 3L’s are interested in many topics & find themselves researching & discussing various things where they can make many hypotheses & speculate facts. In comparison to a 2L, they are a lot more cautious with their assertions & won’t take as many risks such as openly debating someone like a 2L would. My next point focuses on how 3L’s struggle with thinking & speaking at the same time in any order. They wish to have the fluidity of being able to do both at the same time (like a 2L), but these gaps sort of form between trains of thought. They then begin to fill these gaps with a bunch of various facts in order to redeem themselves & make them seem “smart” to others. This disconnect between thinking & speaking is a struggle they deal with a lot & is what makes debates & discussions seem so intimidating. The Syntax Of Love quotes an anecdote from a 3L who was giving a lecture to a room full of students, “…my tongue cannot move, my spine is stiff, I carry the weight of an Egyptian pyramid on my shoulders, but my brain, what’s in my brain, I can’t even understand. Smoke screen. I forget half the material, no notes help.” It is noted that this isn’t all from mental ability doubt, but also from a lack of exercise in the realm of speaking due to their silence. 3L’s will also partake in certain logical activities such as puzzles. They do this  in order to practice their logical skills & to determine whether their mental inferiority is something objective or subjective. Lastly, 3L’s overall do not like things that justify the irrational or extremely positive, especially with a low emotion placement.

To sum it up…

3L’s mostly keep to themselves in regards to discussions of logic as they fear being labeled as “dumb”, but overall they have a very complicated relationship with logic. They say they find logic pointless, in order to be considered logical. It’s a sort of complex that’s built itself off of feelings of mental inferiority & lack of practice due to their quietness. When they do get to show off their logical skills without risk of “injury”, they’ll flourish, spewing out random facts. They have a disconnect between speaking & thinking where they can’t do both at the same time as it becomes incredibly overwhelming due to their subconscious craving of logical validation & gaps between trains of thought.

——————————————

3V:

3V’s worst fear is vulnerability regarding their will aspect. This leads them to take the road of aggressiveness, loneliness, anger, & secrecy in order to devoid themselves of any possibility to have their deepest weakness exposed; themselves. 3V’s are a big complex, in which a main issue surrounding them is their own “facelessness.” The document then uses a long excerpt to describe the 3V’s psyche, in which I feel this is the most important part (since it’s the main realization): “Looking back now, I realize that I never had a face of my own. I've always followed someone's lead. And in general I have a feeling that I do not feel anything. I can't get angry, laugh heartily, I can't! I can’t or don’t know how to make friends, but I really want to have a friend! When they scold me, I absolutely cannot say anything against it. I feel that something in me is not right. I don't have any strength.” 3V’s also have a habit of lying. They’ll lie on impulse for self-defending & self-affirming toolsets, in order to cover up their insecure & vulnerable core from external judgment due to their high levels of sensitivity (external or not). They use these lies to take on a different face where their true vulnerable self is hidden behind the facade they can replicate from others, wanting to appear to others as anything but themselves. This can manifest as them searching constantly for others’ approval. They seek approval to be convinced of their own significance and value in which they at the same time lack confidence & are confident in. A lot of what a 3V does contains some ulterior hidden thinking behind it, like they may be quite obedient to others for example, but they may just be hiding a bitter attitude towards the person who is infringing on their volition. 3V’s can be considered to be difficult to manage as well as not-good performing as bosses. This places them in a sort of awkward, middle spot. Another example: someone might tell a 3V to do something a certain way, the 3V then might agree to doing the action in that certain way, but then continue to do it their own way in rebellion. This all surrounds the theme of lying once more.  However, they aren’t one to really betray anyone, & this is because they are never fully attached or connected with people. They will often keep their options open, ready for an escape plan with evidence to rationalize their leaving of said person when the time comes. (3V’s often collect this sort of evidence/observation list as a defense mechanism, but to also be the one to say, “Aha! I knew it, & here’s why…”) This is then in part due to their low amounts of will in general, not having enough will to fully join anything around them. 3V’s often find themselves dreaming & aspiring to be better versions of themselves. They dream to be great examples of leadership to others & a beacon of strength in general, but struggle to take steps in reality to actually attempt to get to those levels of fantastical perfection. 3V’s decide it’s safer to stay put than to risk it all & go for it, this leads to low self-confidence (external or not). Therefore, they are left to envy those that they view as better than them in any aspect. This leaves them in a bitter state where they see the world around them as cruel & unfair, & can be suspicious of the things around them. Lastly, 3V’s tend to never really be sure of anything. They have a hard time committing to things & keeping their promises due to their lack of self, fear of blame/taking responsibility and becoming vulnerable, &/or having multiple belief systems. They then use the complexity of the concept of responsibility & the world around them as an explanation.

To sum it up…

3V’s are extremely complex characters. They deathly fear being vulnerable & showing their true, sensitive self to others. So in order to never show that side of themselves, they’ll hide their core nature by replicating those around them & hiding behind masks of lies. They’re confident in themselves but at the same time are incredibly insecure; this manifests as the constant seeking of approval from others. They desire to be pillars of willpower & strength, but fear others’ opinions & judgment so much that they have a hard time stepping out of their comfort zone & going for their dreams. They are also never really 100% sure of things, their constant doubt caused by their overall facelessness & fear of exposure to their insecurity.

——————————————

3F:

3F’s are firstly described by their movements, they’re leaning towards the awkward, stiff side of things, where they always look plagued by uncertainty & over-cautiousness. They feign an indifference to their physical appearance but it really takes over their mind causing insecurity & worry, they’ll be very distrusting of external advice towards their physical realm & they try to prevent their bodies from obtaining harm. Harm could be as bad as a physical injury to a common cold, they take things in extremes. 3F’s have a sort of heightened-sensitivity, not to get it mixed up with 1F’s “hyper-sensitivity” though, that allows them to have high sensory empathy. Sensory empathy is basically being able to practically (almost; definition) feel others’ physical pain just from seeing it, or even just from thinking about it. The Syntax of Love, uses a sentence that might sum it up, “...whose hands and feet opened wounds when contemplating the image of the crucified Christ…” Ideas of pain will become reality for the 3F. They are also labeled as, “the untouchable” as 3F’s generally dislike form physical touches from external things or people due to their over-guardedness from the external harshness of the world. This over-guardedness is transferred into this type’s relationships with people, the book goes in detail with the sexology of the type and how they dislike the the tendencies of physical embrace in relationships due to an “‘inborn moral feeling [against it]’” and an “‘innate bashfulness [towards it]’”. This same ideal is brought back to the previously mentioned heightened sensory empathy, as 3F’s would be the type to look away from an intimate scene on television due to all of that which was mentioned. 3F’s also have high amounts of fearfulness and cowardice in regards to the physical world around them. They aren’t ones to start physical fights and see that as the lowest way to solve a problem. 3F’s prefer pacifism which can turn out to be a flaw for them, as it’s their form of cowardice and squeamishness around conflicts. 3Fs live a life of obedience to the laws around them generally, not being one to break the rules due, again, to the fear and aversion of violence. This can also lead to them usually submitting to authority around them instead of taking a rebellious role.  The 3F's senses are very refined due to their cautious outlook on the world, they will sense changes in the environment around them that others might not notice, & could be the first to react if that were such a case. 3F’s are naturally going to be a bit stingy with their money, sometimes out of pure pettiness, but when it comes to gifts or grand gestures, 3F doesn’t mind spending a lot of money. But, you’re rarely ever going to find a 3F that likes to spend large amounts of money on themself, they’ll usually feel selfish or ashamed. Because of this lack of spending on the self, 3F’s don’t have many general items in comparison to the 2F for example, but the few items they have are filled with personal meaning, and they won’t feel fully comfortable around other places that don’t have their selected items. Lastly, They feel as if they are the weakest link when comparing themselves to people around them, and will try to place their own problems onto those around them, guaranteeing them minimum comfort will be enough since it’s guaranteed and they feel bad about themselves and their abilities.

To sum it up…

3F’s are generally awkward and passive people. They have a heightened amount of sensory empathy towards depictions (reality based or not) of physical disturbances such as physical pain (injury) or intimacy. This makes them crawl away from any chances at being physically put in a spot that disturbs their heightened senses and causes them to live a life of cowardice towards the physical world around them. They dislike conflict, seeing it as the worst way to solve a problem. And follow their flawed pathway of pacifism. 3F’s feel they are a weak link in society when reflecting on their physical capabilities and will put their problems onto someone else in a cry for help whilst also trying to maintain a feign indifference towards their physical self and external image, which they feel heavy amounts of insecurity in, hence the problems mentioned here.

Fourth Placement:

4E:

4E’s are generally going to be disinterested in the world of emotion, hence their placement title of “unbothered.” 4E’s don’t find much value in expressing their emotions and would prefer to adapt to the emotional atmospheres around them, rather than focus on their own emotional world and how to express that individually. With this limited self-expression, they aren’t bothered about it. It isn’t going to be a stressful period for them to “suppress” their emotional expressions because they in general have a hard time feeling emotions on their own without external stimuli to guide them. When a 4E is left alone to figure out their emotions individually, they’ll fall short and focus on other things instead. Because of this lack of self-interest, they’ll become more impressionable to the emotional atmospheres around them. They can be loud and expressive when needed, but all of their emotional expressions have this sort of, and this is the metaphor I like to use, on/off switch. The expressions for the 4E feel almost like a task. Basically, once they complete that task, their emotions will fade pretty quickly, just like turning on a light switch and then turning it off. Even while the 4E is completing the task of emotional expression, the emotions they display aren’t going to be felt very deep inside of them either, like a dull or hollow feeling. Even though they are not very self-interested in the world of emotions, they aren’t all that others-interested either. 4E’s are not the hugest fans of emotional conversations, as they carry a more indifferent attitude towards the emotional world itself. They don’t find themselves convinced from an emotional argument presented to them, nor will they really end up using emotions in their own arguments either, as they find little personal value and/or interest in them, as mentioned before. They’re indifferent to the emotions of those around them, but not in a malicious way at all. They just simply aren’t interested in the topic, and this doesn’t equal a causation of any rudeness on their behalf towards others’ emotions. This indifference can actually be a benefit for them, as they remain objective when asked to give their critique on something. Many find their objectiveness helpful in deciding what they want to do next. From this, 4E isn’t very interested in aesthetics due to having no emotional connection to them like others might have, such as 1E. This leads them to consume aesthetics and art instead of usually making it on their own, as they’d have a hard time putting emotion into it. They’re more likely to just be interested in anything, again, the indifferent theme is showcased with their little preferences for the aesthetics around them.

To sum it up…

4E’s are generally disinterested in the world of emotions, which leads them to live a life of indifference and objectiveness. They aren’t very interested in others’ emotions, and therefore aren’t very interested in participating in emotional conversations as well. They’re going to be mostly indifferent to the things presented to them and this allows the 4E to be objective when it comes to giving their critique or take on something when prompted. They have a lack of individual emotionality and rely on external stimuli to form their emotions. Even then however, 4E’s still feel as if emotionally expressing themselves is a sort of task, and their emotions won’t be strong during their expression nor will they be after, as after the emotions will fade quickly (on/off switch metaphor).

4L:

I’ll preface this the same way that the Syntax of Love does; many people assume after hearing “unbothered logic” that the 4L would be “dumb” or “not mentally capable”, but this is just not so. The 4L simply prioritizes other aspects around them over logical analysis, this doesn’t have a direct causation effect on their mental capabilities in the realm of logic. 4L’s struggle to develop logical assertions, connections, and conclusions independently without the support of an external stimuli/source, and they’re okay with this. It doesn’t stress them out, like a 3L in comparison. They don’t like to analyze or look far ahead unless they’re required to do so in general, this leads them to live a life of natural indifference to the world of logic. They aren’t searching for one objective truth like a 1L, and aren’t as concerned with making connections like a 1L either, they’re able to leave things open without conclusion and not feel dissatisfied or uncomfortable. 4L’s are generally more pragmatic and will adapt to logical assertions made nearby them, as they’’ take these logical deductions to help form their own logical analyses. The 4L comes with a sort of fearless individualism, where if they find something they agree with, they’ll take that logic and go with it for that moment no matter if it seems logical to others nearby; they go in their own direction. 4L’s are prone to their judgments changing very often, they’re sort of flimsy or “toothless” in their assertions like one day they might agree with this logic, and the next day they might go with a different logic. This is due to how they “appropriate” others’ minds, as seen in this quote from SoL; “‘He appropriates another's mind with such naturalness that he himself is the first to be deceived, sincerely believing as if he were expressing his own judgment or explaining his own thought, although in fact he is merely an echo of the one he has just parted with. … I do not have a political, religious, or philosophical worldview; I change it every month …’” This quote further elaborates on their lack of interest towards logic to the point that an insane amount of indifference becomes apparent enough to get the 4L to adopt others’ logical mindsets and judgments. This pattern allows the 4L to be very flip-floppy in their judgements. They aren’t the type to really doubt others’ logic or be rather curious, which allows them to become more impressionable and willing to go with the flow of logic surrounding them without much protest or skepticism.

To sum it up…

These “intellectual chameleons” are rather indifferent to the world of logic, leaving the 4L’s to become adaptive towards logical assertions made nearby them. They struggle to think ahead (consequences, etc.) and/or just make general logical conclusions individually, without external stimuli’s help. They’re able to do so when needed, but it’s something they’d rather not do since the 4L’s are not all that intrigued by the world of logic. They don’t need to form logical conclusions to find “one objective truth” as the 1L does, and they’re content with this. If they do agree with something, they’ll adopt it, go for it, and disregard others’ doubt towards them; this is the 4L’s fearlessness. Though, the 4L usually isn’t very stubborn in their logical deductions they appropriate from others’ minds, and they’ll often find themselves changing their logical judgments freely without much stress.

4V:

4V’s are primarily described as nice/easy to be around. This is due to their 2V-ish respectfulness, delicacy, but mainly because 4V’s aren’t typically individuals that are rebellious or resisting others. 4V’s also see the world divided by “superior” and “inferior” people like the 1V, but opposing the 1V, they rather place themselves in the inferior pile, but are okay with this. They place themselves on a subordinate level to others, and are agreeable towards themselves about this; not trying to disguise themselves as a higher character like the 3V. The 4V comes with this low self-esteem which can create an “unclouded” psyche in comparison to other will placements. Others usually won’t see them in a superior light, but they aren’t very concerned with this again, “‘...I say this because in my house even now some do not recognize me as a master, ‘ - and not to be embarrassed at all. And not to be embarrassed because the publicity was given to what he, the emperor, already knew: he is not a person and, most importantly, not a person, not at all concerned about his impersonality.” (Syntax of Love) This quote details how even this emperor was not usually taken to be a person holding a high amount of power, but the 4V is okay with this unrecognition. Family is said to be very important to 4V’s, as they’ll remain similar in temperament and power when it comes to them. The example used describes how these two adult siblings hide their tobacco use from their parents, as if they’d still get punished like children. The 4V agreeableness to others does come at a cost however, as they can become overly reliant on others. They could become extremely subservient to others and they will probably end up craving working with others to an extent, as they struggle to make decisions and utilize their will without external support. SoL calls this, “lunacy to tandem” which basically means insanity to working together in a pathological way. 4V can sometimes go further with the ideals of who they look up to than the actual person. Basically, if the 4V is going along with someone superior to them that they look up to, “serving” in an extreme case, even if the superior has disbanded form an idea, the 4V might go rebellious in its own way and continue on the path with that idea, further than the superior. This isn’t from slyness or general ill intent, but rather just a sort of insensitivity towards the superior and more a focus on the actual idea in a straightforward way. The 4V also has a strong adherence to taking responsibility. They condemn themselves to secondary, more obscure roles around them, as they feel they might fail due to their lack of self-concentration and interest, so they don’t wish to take on the responsibility of their “inevitable” failure. They have a severe lack of ambition and initiative, which leads to their thoughts of failure as well as the miracle it’d be if they ended up on top of the social hierarchy. They don’t generally have much influence on those around them, which is why that high position wouldn’t be very considerable for the 4V's in general.

To sum it up…

4V’s are considered to be quite timid, respectful, and most importantly; easy to be around. They get the title of “easy-going” as they are not a very rebellious type at all. In fact, they can become so agreeable and subservient to others in some cases, that they’ll become overly dependent on those close to them. They see the world through the division of “superior” and “inferior” people, placing themselves easily within the “inferior” grouping. They place themselves in secondary and inferior roles because they generally lack self-esteem, and they don’t want to take responsibility and the burdens that come with failure--which they assume for themselves automatically usually. They assume this because 4V’s lack ambition, influence, and initiative, generally speaking. They also lack self-concentration, which all added up leads to a fine spot not in the high positions of social hierarchies, which they are content with. They aren’t stressed about their social standing in terms of power like a 3V, and they won’t try to disguise themselves to be stronger than they feel they are.

4F:

4F’s can often be assumed to be bad-workers due to their assumed laziness, but in reality, 4F’s can actually be pretty good workers. They can endure a lot of bad physical discomforts since their personal comfort is not of the utmost importance to them, compared to a neurotic type like 3F. They can be sort of fearless in this regard. Their fourth placement in physics doesn’t mean the stereotypical behavior of slacking off, it more so reflects their general indifference to their physical realm and the outcomes of their work. This indifference comes with the con of being hard to excite/initiate demeanor, but comes with the pro that the 4F is able to do mostly any task that comes their way without much complaint, like boring jobs such as filling out forms for a while. They aren’t very concerned with the outcome, so they won’t get caught up in a spiral of, “Is this worth my time?” generally. They don’t place a lot of value on the physical world around them, leading them to be not only indifferent to physical discomforts/comforts themselves, but towards others as well. 4F’s aren’t going to be very empathic towards others’ physical discomfort, and aren’t concerned with comforting others much either, not from any sort of malicious intent, but just that indifference being so apparent. They rely on obtaining what is necessary, not really going above and beyond to try to align with what’s comfortable nor what’s happening in the social trends around them. 4F’s don’t dislike luxury, they just aren’t going to go out of their way to look for it. In the case of a physical fight, 4F’s can be good at besting their opponent, but won’t save themselves from harm in the process either, for this, their fearless theme is presented once more. Their selflessness and fearlessness can withstand a lot, as they aren’t easily tempted to waver from their objective, as again, materialism isn’t of much value to them, as opposed to the 1F for example. They’re more accepting of others’ opinions in regards to their physical world, for example, they’d try a new food or sport if someone told them it was good. That sort of receptiveness comes from their indifference and fourth-placement-adaptability. They don’t generally have their own individual preferences in regards to their physical items or what they most like, so they’ll rely on others’ external support to guide them through the physical world. The 4F’s might sometimes even feel physically weak, weakened such as an elderly person, but this conflicts with their (possible) external appearance of full health. In regards to sexology such as described within my 3F video, they aren’t really all that interested in the world of sexual relations and acts since physical experiences come last in their priorities, can vary from each person but this is the general idea of the 4F ideally. Lastly, 4F’s might constantly be feeling this sort of melancholy feeling where misfortunes surround them and they might find tragedy in things near them or regarding them, this can accompany their possibly weak body and indifferent mindset.

To sum it up…

4F’s are usually assumed to be slackers, but this isn’t necessarily the case. 4F’s can actually be great workers to have near you, as they can take on any sort of duty with little complaints. This is due to their general indifference towards the physical world and how it affects them, leaving them to live a life where they can withstand a lot of various environments and conditions without much effect on them personally. This can allow them to be given the description of “fearless” as they can take on a lot of discomfort but will be able to persevere through those conditions because of that indifference. They aren’t really interested in the world of physics, and prefer to let others take the reins, allowing them to be very adaptive and accepting of others’ takes on what they should try or do. They don’t place much value on the physical world/body for not only themselves, but for others too, leading 4F’s to not be very empathetic towards others’ physical discomfort. But this comes with a pro, as they aren’t usually going to be tempted away by comfort or a luxury item from whatever they’re trying to do. They might carry a melancholic feeling with them wherever they go, especially with their (possibly) weakened body and possibly having a weak emotion placement to add onto that feeling.
