There is a lot of freedom granted to us in America, yes we do face many problems and racial injustices but we have lots of freedom compared to other countries as spoken about in this article. https://bestlifeonline.com/freedoms-americans-take-for-granted/. There’s lots of proof of how these other countries face hardships that are 10x worse than ours. Yes, racial injustice is horrifying, and if you saw those videos of black mothers and fathers getting their children taken away or vice versa, and did not see how frightening and twisted they are, then you’re despicable with no empathy for any humans. Yes our president is a horrible person and I’m sure we all can agree on this by seeing all the homophobia, racism, sexism, etc he engages in. But with him or without him, we are still given lots of freedom in America compared to other places with less fortunate, it doesn’t mean I agree with everything that is going on here. But this is our country, this is our world, these are our people and we have to appreciate what we have and call our injustices along the way. Like a healthy relationship, you can’t hate everything about the person because then they’re gonna break up with you and I don’t think you would want America to break up with you, you realize the good and the bad and you love them so much because they’ve done so much for you and although there are many faults that you do work together to fix and yes there’s a lot of messiness and anger and sadness but at the end of the day it’s two of you wanting the same thing and working towards the same thing. Idk I hope that analogy made some type of sense. And yes we are working on racial injustices and other injustices and issues and of course, there may always be issues in America but we truly cannot have perfection but we can do the most to help and work to build our democracy for all the next legacies and our families and our futures. My mother comes from Morocco which is a third world country in Africa, she understands that they are extremely unfortunate there compared to America and she is grateful that she has the opportunity to be allowed inside of this country 20 years ago. Even the states are opening up the cases for the innocent black victims who were murdered. Change is coming, change is working for us, things are getting better even if it’s not on the media. And we have almost the whole world on our side.
But I spoke about all of that to talk about what's going on in Lebanon, and Africa in general, and to Arabs living in Africa. I completely understand that there are so many dreadful things happening across the world. And we can’t do much to help from where we are, but we can speak about what is happening and raise awareness, and sign petitions on sites such as https://petitions.whitehouse.gov where you can sign and create petitions, and if these petitions are reached to their goal government officials will look into them, these petitions have more impacts than others from sites such as https://www.change.org. If you would like more information about the White House petitions you can check out the site for yourself. It gives a very easy and simple way to voice your beliefs and engage with your people and help them if given enough traction. Although change.org is a good site for petitions, the petitions have to have way more signatures to get any attention. Petitions with 300 to even 20000 signatures don’t help as much as White House petitions with even 300 signatures if shown to the right people. Change.org can help but it needs a lot more attention and many stages before they are seen and even taken into consideration. I think we would rather not “waste” time by sharing pointless petitions from other sites where money will probably be stolen and no changes will be made. But I’m sure you have heard about the explosions in Lebanon, (what is happening: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/beirut-explosion-lebanon-harbour-port-a9653696.html) (why this is happening: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/06/11/world/middleeast/lebanon-protests.amp.html) or the Muslims in the concentration camps in China (what is happening: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.spectator.co.uk/article/chilling-stories-from-inside-china-s-muslim-internment-camps/amp) or the Yemen crisis (what is happening and why: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-29319423) or what is happening between Israel and Palestine (https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2020/country-chapters/israel/palestine) and so many other horrible things that I rarely see being spoken about. And if you have not, please press on the links to educate yourselves. You can even just skim the article to get a good understanding. But this is 10x worse than what is happening in America by a lot. Our people are suffering so much, and others need to stop caring only when it happens to them or their own families. Empathy is a key thing in life and without it, we would never be able to have the caring and heart to help others or feel other's pain. Kids and families in Africa are starving, sick, living in the most extreme amounts of poverty every single day, and no one has said anything. Why is that? Why is it that people have to suffer in silence every day of their life? This stuff has been going on for years upon years now. We need to help, or do something or anything to help, whether that’s spreading the news or talking to others about it. There’s no way around this, there’s nothing anyone can say or do to justify what's happening here. It’s really hard to have a strong passion to help people, and it takes time to develop it. Such as how it takes time to develop a skill, developing traits and passion is difficult too. But the more you hear about it on the media the more you see what is happening and understand that if it were you in this situation you would wish anyone would come and save you. So I’ll add a few sites that want to make a big change in these countries to see if anyone would like to check them out and maybe support what they’re doing because change and progress must go step by step.
