Mahavir Jayanti 2013

JSCNC will celebrate Mahavir Jayanti on Sun April 28, 2:00pm. This year's celebrations will take place in Hindu Bhavan Cultural Hall like last year to better accommodate our growing needs. We will also use last year’s afternoon format followed by Swamivatsalya (Dinner). There is mandatory dress rehearsal for all cultural program participants on Sun Apr 21 at 3pm.

Mahavir Jayanti is one of the largest events sponsored by JSCNC, is open to everyone and demonstrates the unity and generosity of JAIN community. The Executive committee puts in a lot of planning in place but your support - financial and volunteer - makes this program a huge success. This year, we have already received sponsorships for most of the major categories: Swamivatsalya (Dinner), Goody bags and trophies for children, Food on the day of dress rehearsal.  Your support is always appreciated on this auspicious occasion for activities throughout the year. If you would like to contribute, please register your pledge with Pratyush Mehta or Anand Shah. Also, if you are interested in volunteering please contact Pratyush Mehta or Anand Shah. Thanks to everyone who already signed up!

As the practices and preparations continue, I wanted to take a moment on behalf of the executive committee to recognize all the volunteers who have agreed to choreograph items for the stage program. They have a diverse group of very demanding crowd (young children) to manage. These choreographers work very hard and spend their personal time to prepare the children for the on-stage program. Please make sure you give them your full cooperation. Mahavir Jayanti on-stage program is not only a celebration of the birth of Bhagvan Mahavir but also a display of Jain values. If you have any suggestions or concerns, please bring those to a committee member or pathshala teachers. We have an “open door” policy so any and all comments are encouraged. The Executive Committee contact information is at the top of the newsletter and on www.jscnc.org.

Pathshala Dues for 2013

We still have a few outstanding dues. If you have already done so or made arrangements recently, please let Mr. Pratyush Mehta know. The following announcement is repeated from our Jan newsletter.

I  would like to remind the parents of Pathshala kids to ensure that annual dues for Hindu Society facility use are paid. This is a Hindu Society of NC requirement for all groups who use the facility. The contribution is $10 per month per child and you can either pay monthly or annually.

For your convenience, the committee can accept your check on your behalf and provide it to HSNC. You can bring a check to the next meeting or let us know the arrangements you have made (auto draft/direct pay).

You cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all the parents who have already registered and made their payments! We only have about ⅓ of the students registered. Please make sure you register your child. The deadline was Feb 3rd but it’s not too late! Registration instructions:
