Reminder: today, Thursday, Feb 14, is a red/pink/white Valentine’s Dress Down Day. Dr. V. says purple is fine too!!

SAT Prep Math will be on Tuesday 2/26. Please check your email for any updates.

The FRENCH CLUB will meet on Tuesday Feb. 26 right after school in room 209. Please come and help prepare for Mardi Gras, enjoy some French refreshments and have our 'group' photo taken.  If you can't make this meeting, please see Madame Antonellis sometime today.

We are excited to announce AWHS’s first LGBt student and ally group.  This will be a student run group with a focus on recognizing our common human dignity, the gift given to each of us by our creator God.  The group will concentrate on awareness, education, and community outreach.  Our first meeting will be Tuesday, February 26th after school in Room 306. If you have any questions or will be unable to attend the meeting next week but are interested, please see Mr. Wansely in Room 306 or Ms. McMullan in Room 103.        

                                

NJHS is collecting lightly worn winter hats, coats, gloves, scarves, sweatshirts, long sleeve shirts, sneakers, shirts, pants etc. from sizes newborn to adults medium for Cradles to Crayons. All donations can be dropped off to Campus Ministry or NH 001

AWHS will NOT be attending the three day Model UN conference at Boston College. Our last and final two conferences will be as follows: Saturday, March 2nd at BCHigh and Sunday, April 7th, at Winchester High School. Students interested in attending the Winchester Conference should contact Mr. Babcock with their interest in the event asap.

Part-time Job Opportunity:  

McSweeney & Ricci Insurance Agency has a part-time general office assistant position at our Braintree office.  This would be a great opportunity for a student looking for an after-school job, 8 hours per week  (Mon – Thurs  2:30-4:30 p.m.) Hourly rate:$12.00   Duties will include: Collecting and processing outgoing mail outgoing mail, Scanning, Photocopying, Ordering supplies, Other assistance as needed. LOST & FOUND:

A sum of money was found outside of Naz Hall.  Please come to main office to claim.

A chemistry book and an Alex and Ani bracelet were found in Room 202 and turned in to the main office this morning.

A blue lunch box was found in the freshman hallway, a Written on Our Hearts textbook, a Catcher in the Rye book (found in sophomore hallway), a black, bag strap (found in freshman hallway) and a Realidades I workbook were found.  Please come to the Main Office to claim these items.

ATHLETICS:

Today (Thursday)

Boys basketball will host Cardinal Spellman tonight at 3:30, 5 and 6:30. This is a huge game with tournament on the line. The boys need a big win tonight. They will also honor their Seniors!

Girls Basketball heads to Cardinal Spellman today. Bus is at 3PM

Freshman Girls Basketball heads to Cardinal Spellman. Dismissal 2PM and Van 2:15.

Liz Galicki will participate in the D2 State Swim Finals on Saturday at Boston University.

The Dig is Open today.

There will be an informational Spring Track meeting in the Cafe after school today (Thursday).

Yesterday:

Track had a good showing at the Reggie Lewis Center at the State Class qualifiers meet. VJ Blair set a new school record in the long job and qualified for the State Meet.

Boys hockey lost to Bishop Fenwick 4-1.

Girls hockey lost to Dennis Yarmouth 3-1.

A reminder to lock your locker in the locker rooms. Do not leave items out on the floor in the locker rooms.

No students should be parking in the lot behind the school for any reason. Please park in the APL or visitors parking across the street.
