Regional Map: Maps must be in final copy form (NO pencil)

Written Papers: Each person must turn in their own papers
Format: Proper heading, Title, Paragraphs (3-5)
Arial or Times New Roman font 12 or 14 fontsize
Paper must include: (Use your Cornell notes)
-What makes a region
-Pros and Cons of living and working in your region -State and Region economy
-Politics of the Region (similarities and differences throughout the region)
Regional Literature:
-Each student will read a selection of their choice authored by someone
from their region. A list will be available or a student can find one of their own if approved by the teacher. -Each group will complete written products that demonstrate proficiency in the following assignments. Each member must complete a different assignment.
- Theme: Write a page that explains the main idea and theme of the story. In
addition, explain how your main idea/theme is connected to your region. - Vocabulary Story: Select 7-10 unfamiliar vocabulary words. Write each
definition in your own words. Write a one page fictional story using your selected vocabulary. The story must be set in your geographical region. - Create a Comic: Create a 6-8 frame Comic chronologically highlighting
the main ideas of the story. { -Compare Stories: Compare your story to another one you've recently read. One
page paper must include analysis of protagonists in each story, comparison of setting, and author's purposes.
Extensions:
Choose one of the following to add to your final project. Format should be written, visual, chart, diagram, etc. It should show significant effort and depth. Be creative.
-Products that are exported and where -Cost of living, compare to higher or lower costs elsewhere -Places of interest to visit: natural or man-made -People of note from your region and their contributions to society
(local, national, international) -Literature extension - On Your Own, find another piece of literature about your
region; complete something creative showing an understanding of the main idea.
