Room Temp Sensor

  1. Remove light switch from bedroom wall and pull out room sensor wires.

  1. Drill a small hole and feed sensor wires through the hole.
  2. Connect the wires to the sensor wires.

  1. Mount sensor to wall. (Screws not included)

  1. Remove base from ceiling vent and pull down the wires.

Yellow wire that is mounted with one screw and contains a White wire, Black wire and Ground.

  1. Remove plastic case from yellow wire and dispose.

  1. Remove cover from AC controller. Insert round black insert into the open hole. Feed yellow wire through the black insert.
  2. Connect white to white, black to black, and ground to green with included wire nuts.
  3. Use electrical tape around the wire nuts.

  1. Move Zone jumper to position 2 and replace cover.

  1. Connect red to R+.
  2. Connect white and white with black stripe to the tabs labeled ROOM.
  3. Connect the included wire with probe to the two tabs labeled FREEZE.
  4. Connect blue wire to B-.
  5. Connect black wire to SIG 2.
  6. Connect purple wire to SIG 1.

  1. Strap AC to palette. Lift AC unit onto roof. Use a blanket and/or cardboard to protect the roof.

  1. Use the bed of a pickup truck and two people to lift into place. (Antifreeze bottle used to keep the cardboard from blowing away)

  1. Remove lap sealant from around vent.

  1. Remove all screws and use a razor blade or putty knife to cut and separate the vent.

  1. Remove remaining sealant.

  1. Lift and set AC unit over the opening with even spacing around the gasket.

  1. Mount the controller on the two studs inside the warm air return side.
  2. Plug in AC unit to controller.

  1. Place FREEZE probe into fins.

  1. Bolt frame to AC unit. Be sure to tighten evenly and compress the gasket to ½” and/or when the white tabs start to bow. If your gasket doesn’t have the white tabs, tighten to 20 INCH pounds (INCH pounds, NOT foot pounds).

  1. Position wires out of the way and spray foam and gaps.
  2. Break away foam to expose the ducting.
  3. Use foil tape to clean up and close any gaps.
  4. Insert plenum (foam divider). You will need to cut it to fit.

  1. Mount plenum plate.

  1. Mount cover.

  1. Thermostat will now display a 2nd zone and allow you to set different temperatures for the living area and the bedroom.

  1. Test and enjoy!
