Check-In Policy

Students are responsible for all materials they check out from the library.

Students will bring back all the books they checked out on the day of checkout unless they are not finished reading the book. They will renew that book as an option. If they don’t bring back any of their books, students will be offered the option to bring them the next day anytime the library media specialist is in the library.

*If books are damaged to the point where they will not be able to be used by another student, the book will be considered lost, and families will have to follow the protocol below.

Consequences for damaged or lost books:

If students don’t bring books back promptly (end of current term), the student and parents will have two options:

  1. Students can volunteer 20 minutes in the library cleaning books and shelves.

        OR

  1. Parents can replace the book with an identical hard-bound book.

Overdue Notices:

Library Media Specialists will notify parents during term conference days with a list of books their child has not returned to the library. Families will have the 2 options available from above if the book is determined lost or damaged.
