INSTRUCTIONS
SUBJECT LINE: We Stand with Palestine
Dear REPRESENTATIVE,
As a constituent of your riding, I’m writing asking for concrete and quick action from my country in upholding the rights of Palestinians to their homes.
As a democracy we must demand that the colonial, expansionist and Zionist project be stopped.
Unfortunately, the lack of international outcry and concerted actions to put a halt to the continuous violation of the 1946 borders have turned Israel into a fascist and segregationist state.
As an elected member of the House of Commons you have the power and duty to speak up for your constituents. What I ask of you today is a clear condemnation of the actions of the Israeli government in Sheikh Jarrah. The unlawful expropriation of Palestinian homes, made in complete violation of International law, must be publicly condemned by the international community and I hope that Canada paves the path forward for other countries to do so.
We have taken a clear stand in the past against various human rights violations around the world, so why do we remain silent in face of the Palestinian struggle?
Apartheid is a thing of the past today because the international community rallied against a system to uphold basic human rights. In 1990, the world chose human dignity over economic considerations.
If it was done back then, what is stopping us now?
So I ask of you to bring forth the following motions:
In the hopes that you receive enough of these to understand the position of your constituents.
Kind regards,
