The issue of awareness in this video involves cyberbullying and how the smallest negative actions towards others can impact someone's life in a big way; but with that said, standing up for someone can make the biggest difference for others who are being victimized. This video highlights different issues involving cyberbullying and one of the ways people can be harassed online. It only takes one small text message for someone to be changed totally.
The target audience of this video involves mostly teens or others who are victimized from cyberbullying. This is the target audience as people of this age group are often the ones involved in cyberbullying: both being the victim and the bystanders
To create an effective video, we used our own footage. We used our own footage because we felt we could capture the message better than using images we didn’t create.
The message of this video mainly addresses the idea of cyberbullying happening to anyone at any time or any place. As well it only takes a small effort from someone to fix the situation. In this video, all it took was for someone to stand up.
In this video, we had multiple actors and one camera worker. Abby was the victim in this cyberbullying situation because she is a quiet and seems very hesitant to stand up for herself in this video. Darian was chosen as the bully because she tends to have a very outgoing personality and we felt she could portray this part effectively. As for Daniel, he is not afraid to speak his mind. This is why we chose him to stand up. We chose Emily for the camera work because she has a lot of patience and skill with technology.
