IMPORTANT NOTE: Check the framerate of the video before making calculations.Try counting the youtube frame skips against the in-game timer to see if it’s 60fps vs 30.

Aerials

Dair - 12 frames of landing lag (buffed from 21) appears to be safe on shield

Knee - 18 frames of landing lag (buffed from 30) does about 50% shield damage. Startup may have been buffed by one frame, appears to be 13 now instead of 14. Waiting for clear 60fps footage to verify.

Bair - endlag appears unchanged, 12 frames at most (12 in Smash 4)

Nair - endlag appears unchanged, 12 frames at most (12 in Smash 4) hit 1 no longer set knockback. Nair1 starts on frame 6, nair2 appears to start on frame 13 (Formerly 7-8, and 20-21 in Smash 4)

Up air - still autocancels, non-autocanceled endlag appears unchanged

Grounded Moves

Jab - confirmed frame 3 like before. Also confirmed to jab lock on missed techs.

F tilt - appears to be frame ~7 on startup (buffed from 9) and the FAF appears to be ~30 (buffed from 32). Evidence taken from a 50fps video and adjusted accordingly.

D tilt - appears unchanged, hit connected ~frame 12 (Smash 4 active 11-12)

Up tilt - appears unchanged. Some people are saying that it doesn’t hit on the ground but there’s no evidence to support it.

F smash - animation changed to a backhand

D smash - unseen, but according to a demo player it’s basically the same

Up Smash - appears unchanged, leg animations line up with Smash 4 frame data (whiffed)

Dash attack - kill move starting at ~100 now. Combo starter potential unknown.

Specials

Falcon Kick - slightly reduced startup, no longer does a flip after kicking off a platform and just drops to the ground without landing lag

Falcon Dive - startup appears reduced, travels faster in the air, b reverse has full momentum

Raptor Boost - super armor once the detector box is activated (according to the Yoshi trailer, unconfirmed in current build), but not on the approach. Detector box startup appears roughly frame 10, buffed from f16. Not a kill move, not a combo starter. Seems to just be a quick punish. (aerial raptor boost same as smash4)

Falcon Punch - startup appears identical to Smash 4’s pitiful 53 frame windup

Miscellaneous info

  • Hilldashing is back meaning reverse hilldashing is probably back as well (aerial raptor boost into slopes = slide)
  • No RCO lag
  • Nair no longer appears to combo reliably from nair1 to nair2, but nair1 is no longer fixed knockback and has been shown to send upwards from the foot hitbox and outwards from the inner body hitbox. Nair1 as a combo starter seems plausible.
  • Dash grab appears to grab in the “blind spot” right in front of him
  • Taunts are faster

Not being able to tech grounded spikes might make dair > knee true at certain percents
