MVE High School is seeking a dedicated 7-12 special education teacher to design and deliver tailored learning experiences for students with diverse disabilities across various educational settings. This role focuses on fostering a flexible and supportive environment that empowers students to succeed in the general education curriculum with the help of appropriate support and accommodations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and rigorous instruction to students in grades 7-12.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement and document accommodations and modifications effectively.
• Regularly monitor and report student progress to administration, staff, and families.
• Advocate for students’ needs while building positive relationships with staff and families.
• Maintain accurate and organized student records in compliance with legal and district guidelines.
• Participate in professional development, curriculum planning, and team meetings.
• Update and share progress on IEP goals with parents quarterly.
• Support students’ transitions to post-secondary education, employment, and independent living.
• Manage student behavior to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
• Coordinate paraprofessional schedules to maximize instructional time and efficiency.
• Engage parents in the educational process through regular communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education

Arkansas teaching license with 7-12 Special Education

Experience at the secondary level is preferred

Contract Terms:

Position: Mt. Vernon-Enola High Secondary Special Education Teacher

Employment Type: Full-Time 190 Day Contract

Salary: 190 Day Certified Contract Salary Schedule

Start Date: July 2025

The Secondary Social Special Education Teacher agrees to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the job description to the best of their ability. The Secondary Special Education teacher will adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies governing student discipline and confidentiality. The terms of this contract are subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.
