You will be allocated a mentor from our executive team who run the program. They will guide you through the entire program and ensure that you are not only enjoying your time, but also gaining from the experience. They have all been a participant before so they know exactly how to help.
Key Program Information:
1. Nominations will close at 11:59pm on the 27th of February 2017. Nominations submitted after this time will not be considered.2. You will be informed whether you have been successful for a position with the QYP by the 6th of March 2017 and sent an electronic letter of offer. The due-date for accepting your offer is 5:00pm on the 10th of March 2017. 3. Launch Weekend (Brisbane) - Fri 7th - Sun 9th April: You will attend this residential weekend, meet your executive and other youth members to discuss and plan your ideas for the 2017 Youth Bills.4. Meeting Phase: Between Launch Weekend and Residential Sitting Week you will assist in drafting the bill, attend meetings with Members of Parliament, engage with your community, and be the representative for the youth of your electorate. You will be given heaps of support and ideas to do this.5. Residential Sitting Week (Brisbane) - Sun 24th - Sat 30th September: You will debate your Bills in Parliament, hold meetings and lunches with Members of Parliament and participate in exciting recreational activities.6. If you are a Year 11 or 12 student in Queensland, you are eligible to receive one QCE point towards your studies upon completion of the program. Completion of the program requires full attendance at both residential camps, unless otherwise approved by the Program Coordinator. 7. By completing this nomination form you are contractually agreeing to be available for the entirety of the above residential dates and thus full attendance will be expected if you are successful.
