Western Choir Boosters: Vocal Scholarship Form
This form is to be completed by the singer applying for funds, but both the singer and parent will need to read all the guidelines and sign this form.

The Western Choir Boosters sponsor a vocal scholarship program which is designed to assist with funding extracurricular vocal educational opportunities for Western School District choral students.

All Western Middle and High School choral students are eligible to apply for a Western Choir Boosters’ Vocal Scholarship. The application must be submitted by May 1st to the Choral Director, who will forward the application to the Western Choir Boosters for consideration.

Guidelines:

Scholarship awards may be used for summer vocal camps, workshops, music seminars, private vocal instruction or any other approved vocal educational opportunity.

In addition to completing this application, scholarship applicants may be interviewed by and should be prepared to sing for the Choral Director as a part of the application process.

Scholarship recipient must be enrolled in choir for the upcoming school year.

Vocal Scholarship applications will be reviewed by the Western Choir Boosters’ Executive Officers and the Choral Director.

The Vocal Scholarship award amount will be determined by the Western Choir Boosters’ Executive Officers and will be announced at the Spring Concert events.

In general, scholarship awards will be made payable to the summer vocal camp, workshop, music seminar or private vocal instructor. The Western Choir Boosters’ Treasurer will be responsible to work with the student (or parent) to ensure the scholarship award is forwarded to the proper place in a timely fashion.

If a student receives a scholarship award and discovers he or she is unable to use the funds, the student (or parent) is expected to notify the Choral director or the Western Choir Boosters’ President immediately. In cases where scholarship amounts have already been paid by the Western Choir Boosters and are non-refundable, the student (or parent) may be held personally responsible to return the entire amount to the Western Choir Boosters’ Scholarship Fund.

NOTE: Please contact the Western Choir Boosters’ treasurer, Heather Matteson (cell phone 517-392-1953), to arrange for payment to your camp, workshop or vocal instructor. Proof of registration/attendance at lessons is required for payment to be made.
