#UWSnubs @UWMulticultural

#UWSnubs is an initiative to raise awareness about microaggressions* at UW-Madison. Your experiences may be shared on the live #UWSnubs microaggressions wall in the MSC.

Connect and share your experiences with us on Instagram and Twitter via #UWSnubs @UWMulticultural.

Examples: "No, where are you really from?" "You aren't like them, your'e a classy Mexican." "Wow, but your English is so good!"
"When I'm the only person of color in my class I get asked to speak for and represent my entire race" "People ask me...What are you?"

This does not report incidents of bias/hate to the Dean of Students Office. You are encouraged to report bias/hate incidents to msc.wisc.edu/bias-incident-report form.

*Microaggressions are the everyday verbal, nonverbal, and environmental slights, snubs, or insults, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative messages to target persons based solely upon their marginalized group membership.
