Nomad 2016 Volunteer Programme Application Form
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Nomad Volunteer. We ask you to take a few minutes to read over all of the following information before filling out the application form.

We are the UK's first Social Enterprise Pop-Up Cinema, donating 100% of our profits to our chosen charity, the Sustainability Institute in South Africa. Over the year we will roam from venue to venue around London.

Each of our fantastic volunteers will join the Nomad (and our mascot Lewis The Camel!) on the road, helping us to run the Front of House. We’re taking a very classy programme of films to some beautiful, curious and downright strange screening locations. You will help bring the magic of cinema to audiences of up to 1500, as the sun sets on some stunning London scenery (or indoors if it's during the Autumn / Winter)!

Attributes we consider important to being a good volunteer are:
Customer focus and a friendly manner
Commitment
Reliability
Common sense
Good initiative
An interest in the charity work of The Sustainability Institute
Fluent English

We are happy to take applicants from all over London and beyond. We take volunteers from a variety of backgrounds, a range of ages and ethnicities, and do not discriminate.

Duties will include ushering, set-dressing, box office duties, meet & greet, selling merchandise, patrolling the grounds, flyering, and generally helping create our magical atmosphere. You’ll be there to tell people a bit more about the Nomad and our story (100% of our profits go to an incredible charity) and make sure they have a fantastic time. You’ll work closely with our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Event Producers as well as Duty Managers, and of course with Lewis The Camel, our mascot!

Please fill in your details below and select the events and times you would like to volunteer at. Please note - events are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Shifts vary depending on the event, but you must be available to work from approximately mid-afternoon / early evening until about 11.30pm. Applicants must be 16+.

In return for your shift you will receive
1. travel expenses within London Zones 1 - 3 (in exchange for proof of travel)
2. free meal (from onsite caterers)
3. 2 x free tickets to a screening at The Lexi Cinema or 2 x free tickets for the Nomad 2016 Season* (*selected venues)
4. If you work 8 events over a 12 month period from your first shift, a free membership to The Lexi Cinema** (**valid to new and previous 2015 volunteers)

We will get back to you very soon via email or telephone.

Successful applicants will be required to complete a short Online Induction.

Note: The Lexi Cinema and Nomad are social enterprises, and give 100% of their profits to charity. Out-of-pocket expenses, meals while working, and travel within Zones 1 – 3 will be reimbursed. We are committed to providing a high quality experience for all volunteers, and the work would not be otherwise undertaken by a paid member of staff. We are a signatory of the London Volunteer Charter and have been used by Greater London Volunteering as a best practice case study.
