The West Bloomfield School District is committed to enhancing instruction through the use of technology. Our goal is to create an environment where students use technology to access a vast amount of resources, tools, and instructional delivery methods to differentiate, support, and enhance their learning. We are very excited to provide a 1:1 Mobile Learning Environment for all 5th Grade Students and 1:2 Mobile Learning Environment for all K-4 Students for the 2015 -16 school year.
5th grade students will have 1:1 access to Chromebooks. Each student will be assigned a Chromebook to be utilized on-site. All K-4 students will have access to Chromebooks and Samsung tablets within their classroom. Access to these tools, along with additional technologies, will also be available in the school iCenter.
As a part of this process, you and your child will be asked to review and sign the District Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) related to the use of West Bloomfield School District WiFi Network. Your child will be asked to review the Student-Friendly version of the AUP. Please work with your child to help them understand their responsibilities. The guidelines will also be reviewed by the building ITS (Information and Technology Specialist) in the iCenter. You will also be asked to review the Caring for A District-Provided Device guidelines. In addition to the technology policies, We are seeking parent permission for your child to receive a secure Google Account (not email) which will allow them to access educational tools and resources provided in the Google Apps for Education suite. The access and functionality of the Google Account varies by grade level (see below) and complies with all federal legislation around privacy and internet safety.

Please take the time to go through each policy with your child/children. These policies are designed to support a robust, 1:1 learning environment while also ensuring the safety and protection of our students. We are excited to move forward but before this can happen all policies and permissions must be reviewed and signed for your child/children. Please complete this form for each student by October 23, 2015. If you have multiple children in our school, you will have the option to submit another form upon completion.
