Thank you for your interest in speaking at an Executive Women in Technology (EWiT) event.
About EWiT: EWiT is a special interest group of the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA) that provides high-quality programming and networking for Director-level and above women tech professionals (working at tech companies or in tech units of a non-tech company). EWiT events provide a vendor-neutral environment for these technology professionals to connect, build their network, and discuss the latest trends as they pertain to the tech sector. EWiT events are invitation-only and participation must be approved by WTIA in advance of the event.
Speaking Time: 45-60 minutes
Format: We recommend an interactive format and will consider lecture, classroom, workshop, and panel formats.
Topics: We are seeking topics that will appeal to executive-level individuals. Topics do not need to be specific to women or technology. Topics we're particularly interested in right now include: neuroscience, mindfulness, overcoming unconscious gender biases, and cutting-edge, leadership-related topics that have been written about recently.
Evaluation Criteria:
1. Credibility: You have demonstrated experience and credibility to speak on this topic. You have spoken to audiences before.
2. Relevant Topic: Will this topic make a difference for this audience? Is it something you've spoken about? Is it interactive?
3. Your Presence: Are you engaging? Do you have stage presence, charisma, energy, and passion for your topic? This is why we request a video clip. If you have a clip in front of a group that's ideal, but a self-shot cameo will work well.
Note: We recognize there are many types of speakers: Storytellers, Data-driven, Unique Thought Leadership, Funny, etc. Don't fit yourself into what you think we want. BE YOURSELF. Authenticity is key.
This is a rolling application process. We have three to five speaker spots available per year. If you are selected, we will contact you to schedule a date and coordinate on promoting the event. Please contact Karina Miller at
karina.mill3r@gmail.com if you have questions about completing this application.
Thanks again for your time and effort!
