STAND UP Against Violence Competition

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month! Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc. commemorates this month every year to help educate the UVa and Charlottesville communities about the various impacts of domestic violence. This year, Sigma Psi Zeta is hosting the 2nd Annual "STAND UP Against Violence" Competition, which is an event that allows organizations, groups, and even individuals to showcase their support for the cause through any kind of performance of their choosing (dancing, singing, spoken word, etc). The winner, who will be the group/individual that most creatively displays their support for the cause through their performance, will earn a cash prize of up to $200. Second and third place winners may also receive a cash prize. Participation is open to the entire university! Any type of performance is welcome. Showing your support for the cause is as simple as wearing purple ribbons for DV awareness or wearing purple in your costumes during your performance. Incorporating speech in some way to voice your support is great as well. Feel free to use any performance you/your group may have performed in the past. We encourage you to get as creative as possible! The event will take place on Friday, Oct. 28th at 6:30pm. If your group is interested in "standing up against violence" with us by participating in our event (and interested in having a chance of earning $200!) then please fill out this registration form by Sunday Oct. 16th, 11:59pm. *REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED - we will not be taking any more acts.* Please contact Esther Na (nn4u@virginia.edu) if you have any questions or concerns - we look forward to seeing all the talent and support that you will bring to this event!
