The URN Symposium is the university's premiere multi-disciplinary research competition. We select the university's top undergraduate researchers to showcase their work and present for distinguished faculty members and professors. Symposium winners will receive university-wide recognition, be published in the Oculus research journal, and also receive a wide variety of monetary prizes.  

To be considered for the Symposium, you MUST be able to make your judging time period (see below), and have a poster to present your research with BEFORE the date of the symposium. Your poster must be no larger than 42 inches in length or width, and must be able to be hung upright on a poster board. More specific expectations and guidelines will be given to finalists, once chosen.

Project Description *
Please describe your research in less than 250 words. Essentially give us a lay abstract of your research question, methodology, results, and conclusion. The description should be simple and understandable for someone with no experience in your field and should include no technical jargon.
Technical Abstract *
Include here, the abstract that you would send to a journal or publication specializing in the field that you have done your research in. This should include all relevant "technical jargon", numbers, conclusions, etc. that would allow an expert in the field to fully understand the scope, results, and significance of your research.
Availability
The symposium is scheduled to be from 11-2pm on Thursday, April 9th. Due to the nature of judging, you are required to be in front of your poster for a given time slot: either from 11-12:30pm or 12:30pm-2pm. Only attendance at one session is mandatory, but if you are available for both sessions, PLEASE check both boxes. We will have student choice awards for best poster, and students will be looking through projects the entire time. Furthermore, greater consideration will be given to candidates who can commit to the full time. By checking the boxes below, you will be officially committing to the symposium, if chosen. Note: we will be providing a lunch break for those who can commit the whole time.
