2015 VIATEC Technology Awards Nomination
The 2015 Technology Awards Gala will be on June 26, 2015!

To nominate any technology business headquartered in the Greater Victoria area, including your own, please mark the box under the corresponding award (one or more). A supporting information package will be sent to you to fill out prior to judging if required.

If you'd like to recognize a business that supports the technology community but isn't actually in the tech industry, please consider nominating them for the Creative Excellence Award.

Award Categories
Technology Company of the Year
Recognizes a Greater Victoria company that has demonstrated excellence in innovation and a commitment to the technology community while embracing sound business fundamentals.  A minimum of 3 years in operation is required for judges to investigate positive growth and a proven track record.  Nominated companies are required to provide revenues from the last 3 years as well as other indicators asked by judges (eg. number of employees).  
Emerging Technology Company of the Year
Recognizes a Greater Victoria company that has the greatest potential to demonstrate excellence in innovation and a commitment to the technology community while embracing sound business fundamentals. This category is reserved for operations that have been established for less than 5 years. Nominated companies are required to provide revenues as well as other indicators requested by judges (eg. number of employees).
Startup of the Year
Recognizes a Greater Victoria company less than 2 years old that demonstrates significant potential to generate revenue, raise investment, or to have significant social benefit.  Up to five finalists will be chosen to provide a 45-second video pitch and the winner will be determined by audience vote.
Product of the Year
Recognizes a Greater Victoria company that has achieved success in the commercialization of an innovative technology product (eg. market acceptance and sales).  Nominated companies are required to provide number of products sold and sales revenue for the nominated product for the last 3 years.
Strategy of the Year
Recognizes the best strategy implemented by or for a Greater Victoria organization.  Nominated companies are required to provide a letter of support clearly explaining their strategy and milestones.  The judges will consider impact and results achieved from the underlying strategy.
Innovative Excellence
Recognizes a Greater Victoria company that has researched and designed an innovative service, process or product that is expected to revolutionize a sector, method of business or way of life.
Executive of the Year
Recognizes an individual who has had a significant impact on the success of an organization as a direct result of their leadership. For this award, executives are considered to be those that typically hold senior titles, eg. CEO, CFO, COO, President, Vice-President. Nominated companies are required to provide revenues from the last 3 years as well as other indicators requested by judges (eg. number of employees).
Employee /Team of the Year
Recognizes an individual or team in the technology sector who demonstrates outstanding initiative and service delivery, and has had a significant impact on the company for which they work.
Employer of the Year
Recognizes a company that has demonstrated commitment to its staff and provides a pleasant workplace. Finalists for this category will be chosen from a survey given to ALL current staff.  Nominated companies will be required to provide a staff email contact list.
Creative Excellence
Recognizes a Greater Victoria company that has demonstrated excellence in innovation and entrepreneurship with a commitment to creativity. Non-tech companies are encouraged to apply for this award as it was designed to recognize the creators, innovators and entrepreneurs outside of the typical tech industry.
Education Champion
Recognizes a teacher who inspires their students using innovative tools and technology. Focused on teachers that use 21st century learning techniques to help prepare students to thrive in a knowledge-based society.
