Dear Parents/Guardians,
Saturday STEAM is available for Vista Verde students to attend, with or without absences on their attendance record. This is a great opportunity for your child to
learn and engage in new STEAM related material, activities, and/or projects. Saturday STEAM is fun, interactive and a chance to meet
fellow Cougars and make new friends.
STUDENTS ARE REWARDED FOR COMING: Students that attend Saturday STEAM will be rewarded TWICE for coming. They will receive a coupon for a free meal at Chili's Restaurant AND will get a sticker on their passport where they will receive a treat at their Lunchtime Passport Turn-In day! PLEASE REMIND YOUR STUDENT TO BRING THEIR CHROMEBOOK AND PASSPORT TO SATURDAY STEAM. Some teachers are even including classroom incentives.
ATTENDANCE CREDIT
*For each Saturday STEAM session that a student attends, one full-day absence will be CREDITED towards their attendance. Absences are no longer removed from attendance, but rather a CREDIT is made towards one full-day absence on the record. This helps towards students trying to achieve a Perfect Attendance goal OR to assist parents towards good faith of Chronic Absenteeism if involved in SART or SARB. If Perfect Attendance or Chronic Absenteeism doesn't apply to you, your student is still invited to attend and engage in a fun STEAM activity on Saturday morning.
STUDENTS NEED TO BE PICKED UP NO LATER THAN 12:00pm. We begin dismissing at 11:45am, after lunch has been served. You can begin picking up your student at 11:45am. Please make arrangements to pick your student up on time.
If you'd like your child to attend, please complete the permission slip that is sent home the week of the scheduled Saturday STEAM OR you can sign up here. If you'd like to sign up for future sessions, you can sign up anytime by going to the Vista Verde website and click on the Saturday STEAM banner under the calendar. That is were you will find the link to sign up all year long.
Students must be signed up to attend.

Saturday STEAM está disponible para que asistan los estudiantes de Vista Verde, con o sin ausencias en su registro de asistencia. Esta es una gran oportunidad para que su hijo aprenda y participe en nuevos materiales, actividades y/o proyectos relacionados con STEAM. Saturday STEAM es divertido, interactivo y una oportunidad para conocer a otros Cougars y hacer nuevos amigos.
LOS ESTUDIANTES SON RECOMPENSADOS POR VENIR: Los estudiantes que asistan a STEAM los sábados serán recompensados DOS VECES por asistir. ¡Recibirán un cupón para una comida gratis en el restaurante Chili's Y recibirán una calcomanía en su pasaporte donde recibirán un regalo el día de entrega de pasaportes a la hora del almuerzo! POR FAVOR RECUERDE A SU ESTUDIANTE QUE TRAIGA SU CHROMEBOOK Y PASAPORTE A SATURDAY STEAM. Algunos profesores incluso están incluyendo incentivos en el aula.
CRÉDITO DE ASISTENCIA STEAM SÁBADO*Por cada sesión STEAM del sábado a la que asista un estudiante, se ACREDITARÁ una ausencia de un día completo para su asistencia. Las ausencias ya no se eliminan de la asistencia, sino que se otorga un CRÉDITO por una ausencia de un día completo en el registro. Esto ayuda a los estudiantes que intentan lograr una meta de asistencia perfecta O ayudar a los padres a lograr una buena fe en el ausentismo crónico si participan en SART o SARB. Si la asistencia perfecta o el ausentismo crónico no se aplican a usted, su estudiante aún está invitado a asistir y participar en una actividad STEAM divertida el sábado por la mañana.
LOS ESTUDIANTES DEBEN SER RECOGIDOS A MÁS TARDAR A LAS 12:00pm. Comenzamos a despedir a los estudiantes entre las 11:30 y las 11:45. Por favor haga arreglos para recoger a su estudiante a tiempo.
