CUSP Student Office Assistant Position Description:
Serve as first point of contact for our diverse student population and visitors to the University of Washington Bothell’s lower division program, Center for University Studies and Programs (CUSP). This program organizes and supports the academic experience of first-year and pre-major students at UW Bothell.
This position will report to the Student Success Center Administrator and be supported by the CUSP Program Assistant which will facilitate the smooth operational performance of the program.
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
Welcome students and visitors, schedule advising appointments, resolve questions and respond to students, parents and faculty inquiries for departmental and university wide procedures and services.
Maintain confidentiality with students, faculty and staff by learning and maintaining FERPA policies and procedures, program policies and procedures, etc.
Compose office correspondence such as responses to frequent requests for information. Perform complex word processing tasks such as merge, sorting, text and graphic integrated posters and flyers, and use spreadsheets to maintain historical data.
Perform electronic mail tasks such as responding to student requests for advising appointments, requests for direction on finding a university service or support, sorting out where or to whom to forward requests.
Assist in the preparation, compilation, and coordination of reports. Evaluate and revise forms for internal use.
Maintain office copier and printer supplies and request maintenance.
Support the office staff with the maintenance of: web pages, faculty records, course/curriculum records, grades, syllabi, evaluations, etc. Maintain file systems for confidential documents. Maintain the retention schedule and documentation.
Other duties as assigned.
