The competition is open to anyone; both individual and team entries are allowed.
Entries are due by Wednesday, March 22nd. Finalists will be notified by Thursday, March 23rd and will be invited to participate in the Final Event where they will give a live pitch. The event will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Willis Building in Uptown.
All finalists will give a maximum, live 3-minute pitch of their idea. Don't miss out on this fantastic networking opportunity and the chance to win money for your strong communication skills!
Winners are awarded CASH PRIZES. Entries must answer the four key questions: - What is the problem you are trying to solve? - How are you solving the problem? - Who are you solving it for? - How is your solution different from what is already available?
Categories: - College: Open to any age college student at any business level ($1000 - first place) - Open: Everybody, any stage of business (One year SEED membership ($1200 value) - first place) - Youth: High school and younger ($500 in prizes available) - People Choice ($500 - vote by attendees) - Free one month amplifier subscription ($499 value) to Crowdfunder. This would have to be for an established company that is prepared to get in front of investors via crowd funding, and Crowdfunder would have to approve our criteria to award the prize. The winner of this will be chosen by the judges.
Pitch Time: College & Open: A maximum of 3-minutes will be allowed for a single Elevator Pitch. Presentations will be stop-watched and presenters will have a digital clock countdown for a real-time reference.Youth: Poster presentations in a tradeshow style of format.
For the pitch: No A/V equipment admitted. Prototypes and props welcome.
